In this fanbase you don't think some people will bend over backwards to bitch about that?

He's who i would want. a young up and coming talent who knows the rules, has tons of SEC experience, and is versatile in all three major sports.

Sean Kelley gets my vote. He's awesome for the Pels.

I chuckle at the people who think a current ESPN guy would want this job.

Yep. Adam Amin would rather call an LSU-UNO midweek baseball game on radio than be the lead play-by-play guy on a national ESPN TV broadcast.

better than the locals. I feel like they are going to make a really lazy hire and they'll have to hire another one in 2 or 4 years.

he would be my choice. not saying he'd actually want to do it. I think you have to make those kind of people tell you no.

No to Hanagriff, Wright and Rollins...

Hanagriff is a better color/fill in guy. Rollins is too hokey, and Wright needs to get more experience in other sports.

It's bad out there, and Hawthorne has been better than people here want to give him credit for.

And no, I'm not talking about his last 5 or so years, I'm talking about the majority of his previous 30 years.

I guarantee you this, all the people talking about what a POS Hawthorne is will be the first ones bitching and moaning about how terrible the new guy is.

But than that's just how this board is, people love to bitch, whine and complain here.

Kelley would be good but I guess he'd have to give up the Pels.

hawthorne gets a ton of shite wrong, is habitually negative, can barely see, seldom gives a score update, and checks out of games in his old age.

I think literally anyone that is a finalist is an upgrade over him.

So, what are you, 12 years old?

You do realize that in his first 30 years he wasn't getting things as wrong as lately, right?

Not to mention, this is radio. Radio is different from TV. I know people like to turn down the sound on the TV, and turn up the radio, but to how many other play-by-play men do you subject to that level of scrutiny? How do you know others aren't getting it wrong just as often - or more often than Jim was in his prime?

I think you literally don't know anything about broadcasting, and you will be the first bitch in line to complain about the new guy.
