LSU can do better than Rollins. I'll be really disappointed if that happens.

All three of those would be godawful.
The only thing they have going for them to be "the voice of the Tigers" is being LSU fans.
Hanagriff is great in a color/post game role, but his montone voice is just annoying calling big moments.
Wright has an annoying voice for radio
Rollins. Enough said.
Regardless it's gonna sound weird with a new person, but you have to get someone who you can listen to for 4 hours and not get annoyed at. Hawthorne makes me feel the excitement, the others don't...at all.

I can't believe Rollins made it this far. Hangriff is okay but Rollins makes him look like Bob Costas.

That's a terrible idea.
For 30 years it's been easy to pick up LSU football games on the radio due to the unique and local voice of Jim Hawthorne. I think too many LSU fans are thinking in terms of TV, and modern TV national personalities. That's not what we want. We want something that says "LSU". We want a professional, but not a Midwesterner.
Regardless of his reputation on this board, Jim Hawthorne is in the top 10% of college sports announcing.

I hope the fact that those names were leaked and the others weren't means LSU wanted the public to know that the familiar names were at least considered.

Sean kelly is mentioned in article that nobody is talking about. Hoping he gets the nod. He is awesome for Pelicans games.

i was about to post that. Sean Kelley is damn good at his job. Very sharp & always prepared.. Would be night and day compared to Hawthorne.

I am curious about the "national" names.......LSU doesn't necessarily need an "LSU guy" behind the microphone.....but someone that can communicate the game to the listeners.

I would think that Rollins is a decent guy, but his voice is obnoxious. Please,not Lynn!
