or, maybe not.

1999

total defense- 102

scoring defense- 109

rush defense- 107

pass defense- 87

2000

total defense- 109

scoring defense- 107

rush defense- 102 (damn...ALMOST cracked the top 100)

pass defense- 88

2001

total defense- 88 (GOAT)

scoring defense- 91 (can you say upward trend, motherfrickers?)

rush defense- 73 chief who?!

pass defense- 90 frick off clancy!

dude was obviously on track to being tGOAT DC in baylor history until the kevin steele train started to come off the tracks

in all seriousness, it will probably just be the same basic chavis D we've seen the last two seasons. will look great with a half-dozen future nfl starters but pedestrian on most days.

I don't want brick either however the best Dc can't do anything without the horses to run the defense. And Baylor had no talent at that time they were a horrible program. I have no clue how brick would do and neither does anyone else. I want a cp, or shop as well but I will reserve judgement until I see the product on the field.

Brick as DC is AOK. As little disruption as possible. The game is won in the trenches and just maybe being a DL, he will emphasize that more than Chavis did. We'll be fine with Brick as DC. Bring in Orgeron for DLine. The game is won in the living rooms of 18 year olds, not in the press box or locker room of "brilliant" coaches...

this was 13 years ago, a coach can't learn how to be a better defensive coordinator in 10 years?

I'm just in awe that LSU let Chavis walk with no immediate replacement. We'd know something by now if that were the case. Chavis isn't worth 1.7, sure, but he's worth 1.7 if it means him not walking his fat arse to college station while we're pondering Brick has his replacement.

The worst part is that it's pretty evident Brick isn't going anywhere. What's the hype behind his body of work? Didn't he get fired from the bears? walk into Earl Lane's recruiting success? He's only good to carry Chavis' bitch work, who's now gone.

let him prove he can do the job at a smaller school. LSU shouldn't be the testing ground for unproven coordinators.

I am OK with Brick and Coach O as D Line coach. Coach O and Frank will be the two best Recruiting duos in the Country

a head coach should learn from his mistakes. he fricking promoted in 08 and it hurt the team. he promoted from within on the other side and that sucked as well.

We've been killing it in the living room. And yet look what happened.

Sure, but wouldn't you prefer a DC that has proven success as a DC?

other than enables there is no candidate who is unproven at DC.

CP had one good year at USC, but he wasn't great at cal and usually had bottom half defenses in the NFL. The only plus with him is that he did have NFL experience.

Shoop who put together a great Defense at Penn State under sanctions, was the DC at Vandy recently I don't remember them having amazing defenses.

We live in an era where Offense is king it isn't easy to find great proven DC to take place of your coach especially when you are late to the game. Chavis kinda screwed us by taking this job when he did.

The damage control has already begun for the pumpers I see. Just like it did when it became clear Chavis was leaving. "Oh, Chavis sucked anyway.....bla bla bla"

That was over a decade ago lol it means nothing. I'm sure people said the same about Pete Carroll coaching in the NFL and Bill Belichick as well.
