I was at the student health Center yesterday. Lady there said over 200 people were getting swabbed for swine flu that day.

It is going to be many teams "Katrina."

Different reports have different targets as far as expected population affected and deaths.

People die from the flu every year. The gov't has scared everyone into thinking this swine flu is some deadly epidemic.

It's the fricking flu. A handful will die as they do every year.

The media didn't help either, I'm with you, people die from the flu annually, a few more will die because of this one, but it's nowhere near the big deal everyone has made it out to be.

Give me swine flu anyday over reg flu. Tamiflu knocks out swine flu in 3-4 days. It isn't as good battling the reg. flu.

First, I think he's saying affect the team by getting sick, not by dying.

Second, it's an added illness. Now you'll have regular flu and this flu(I'm assuming).

I love how all the people coming out of the woodwork missing the point of the thread just to proclaim how e-badass they are and how in their considered expert opinion there is nothing to be concerned about.

Actually this could affect any and all teams - since the swine flu is not partial to any particular climate (at least within the continental US).

Some preliminary studies show that people who have existing lung ailments (bronchial, asthma etc.. ), severe diabetes and some major surgeries are more prone to get affected to a worse degree than normal folks - leave alone healthy , superior specimens like college athletes.
