OP had valid point but attempted a list which was rant-attacked.

I'd never heard of Pat White before seeing him on TV and hearing the announcers say he was from "New Orleans, La". Everytime I have ever seen his name is print it said "hometown: New Orleans". If he's from Dauphne, he certainly didn't claim it to the media.

I've heard announcers mention Darius Reynaud who played for Hahnville as being from New Orleans. Reynaud played with White at West Virginia. They may have gotten the two mixed up.

LSU did not miss on many of those. Bradshaw considered LSU, among many alleged excuses the most likely one was he wanted to pass the ball, just like Ferguson at Arkansas. We weren't known for passing the ball around, and even Bert Jones rotated under McClendon. Humphries was at LSU later, and had his reasons for leaving. LSU didn't miss on many of the list, things just didn't work out. You could take them one by one, and make the case for why they didn't end up at LSU but it would take too much time. You just need to have lived longer than most on here, and followed La HS football all those years!

Someone mentioned Stephon Lefors; he wasn't necessarily great, but he ended up a pretty damn good QB, Louisiville had some of their best years with him....

Danny Wimprine was pretty good at Memphis

As I understand the question it's about those who played HS in LA but did not go to college at LSU (or transferred) so here's a few more:

John Fourcade (played at OM in late 70's)

And I think these also were from LA:
Norris Weese (played at OM after Archie)
QB who played at State in early 80's - shared time with John Bond.

Also, I think Shawn King who played Tulane was from FL, not LA.

By transfer, don't you mean excused from the team? I had a class with Humphries at LSU, but he didn't attend very much.

Of all the QB's listed, most were good QB's, but not great. Great is for the elite. Guys, like Bradshaw, Doug Williams, Most of the guys listed never played QB in the pros.

I heard Terry Bradshaw say on TV that he really wanted to go to LSU but couldn't because of his grades. He admitted it was embarrasing but it was the truth. He also said he enjoyed his time at La Tech and didn't regret anything.
