Here's what he wrote in his book, "It's Only a Game":

Just about everybody I knew wanted me to go to LSU. I didn't know how to tell them I didn't feel comfortable in Baton Rouge, so I purposely flunked the entrance exam. I'm not saying I could have passed the exam easily if I had wanted to go to LSU. I'll never know if I could have passed it.... I definitely didn't want to go to LSU.

I loved that guy. I can't remember how many times I was sitting in the Superdome yelling his name for him to get on the field! Better than that, I was watching him coach an Arena League 2 team one game (Mississippi Mudcats I believe). The team was losing and he came out of halftime suited up and led the comeback. I know it was Arena minor league football, but that was one of my all time greatest sports moments as a fan. Fourcade was a warrior!
