Good article.
This might deserve it's own spinoff thread, but as LSU fans would you rather have the Tyrann Mathieu situation or the Manti Teo situation?

I can't wait to see how many "journalist"s heads roll in the coming weeks.

I'm not sure if a dozen or zero would be more entertaining.

Falling in love with a girl online is way worse than smoking pot.

"He was led to ND to do something". I think bringing a dead girl back to life is pretty special...

Neither is an act which should inhibit their pro careers. At worst Teo is either really dumb for falling in love with an imaginary girl or a POS glory hog for participating in this scam. TM is a kid who had a huge ego and smoked pot. Gee a college kid smoking pot?....the scandal.

On the other hand the "God of all football" has been bestowed on Ray Lewis. His involvement and subsequence inditment on MURDER and AGRAVATED ASSULT in 2000 has never been fully vetted and lead to a GUILTY plea for obstructing Justice...it was all just quietly dropped. He'll still be a first ballot hall of famer.

Here are the charges....
Lewis gained notoriety for his involvement in a January 2000 fight that resulted in an indictment on murder and aggravated-assault charges. In a plea agreement he plead guilty to obstruction of justice in exchange for testimony against two other defendants

Yep. And he had PERFECT position on 3 of them. AJ just made the perfect throw. Uncoverable. People who refuse to rewatch the game yet continue to pretend they know anything about how it played out really piss me off.

Yup the whole TM7 can't cover shite is beyond utter bullshite. He was a true sophomore who always kept his guy in front of him and was as solid of a tackler as anyone on the entire time. He lead the team in tackles as a sophomore.. and has one of the most tremendous football instincts I've ever had the treat of watching.

I will forever regret not being able to see him play as a junior, like I will forever regret not being about to see Ryan Perrilloux lead LSU after 07.

Yeah. What's silly about TM7's "problem" is its only a problem for people who make it a problem. Obviously it didn't hinder his play. And now he can play for the Broncos or Seahawks with no worries at least as far as the criminal court system goes.

When NYC finally outlaws soft drinks and a player gets busted with a diet coke i guess we'll have to be righteously indignant then too.

This is how I thought at first But when these ppl tried to find stuff on this chick and came up with nothing a red flag should have been raised. Your telling me these people didn't have their interns stalking Facebook hard for something on this chick? They did and had nothing which is in fathomable for a situation like hers

Only one problem with the comparison. Mathieu wasn't just caught testing positive or smoking a little weed. He was caught with 10 bags of weed, a digital scale, and a grinder. Those guys were selling. Don't be naive enough to say Mathieu wasn't involved in that.

Because it's there job?

But being that it was such a great story and ND was involved, they just assumed it was all true.

Shame on them

I'm not sure. I think Te'o has a character problem. It's inconceivable that he never knew his "girlfriend" was fake. Maybe he thought she was real at first, but not the whole time.

Meanwhile, if Honey Badger was just smoking marijuana and had an addiction, that's correctable. If he was selling drugs as someone indicated above, that's a different issue, but is there hard proof of that? Maybe I haven't been paying attention but I never heard that before.

Ultimately, if I have to choose between weed and bad character, I'll probably choose weed.
