i like gary!

How can LSU solve its quarterback problem?

Danielson: College football’s greatest difference in between NFL and college is not the spread and the fancy zone read. It’s that in the NFL you need a franchise quarterback to win a championship in college football you don’t. You need a guy that doesn’t hurt you but makes the plays...I think LSU needs to go back and understand what their quarterback brings to the table and not do too much.

I'm not sure I understand what LSU should be doing differently that what they have.

If we asked our QB to do less we would not even gave one

what LSU needs to do is coach them up, put them in position for success, and then trust them to execute, produce, and overcome.

open it up. kind of like how LSU did after the arkansas shut out.

I think Danielson is just trying to say you don't need too much out of your quarterback to win in college.. which may be true, but it sure would help to get more production there..

Just play to our strengths. It's like our coaches are totally mind fricked when they bring in qb's from spread offenses and can't figure out why their learning curve is bigger than others.

Even at his worst, Anthony Jennings looks 100x more comfortable in the spread

A&M game plan was exactly what the coaches should use with these particular QBs skill sets.

Agreed.

They waited until LSU played the biggest dumpster fire of a defense to throw in wrinkles. Pretty frustrating and even more frustrating we pay Cameron 1.3. I'm not saying Cam doesn't know what he's doing, but it's time he earns his pay or leaves

He said that CLM could have pushed to play Oklahoma State but instead he called for a rematch. WTF

Every highschool in my district ran a spread (except us) Id say 70% of HS run a spread.

I get that. I'm just saying that LSU needs to keep playing to its strengths until the 2 are more comfortable under center

Thank you Gary. Pound that rock 50-60 times a game. Who cares if fans whine over 17-10 games.

Eh. From my understanding, CCC develops a gameplay for a game and provides his opinions, but there's no doubt that CLM approves the plan. Aside from Ms. St(who was undervalued at the time) and Notre Dame LSU was the underdog in every game they lost. So they're gameplan that they ran was fairly effective in winning the games they were supposed to.

Serviceable QBs will make us contenders. A Cardale Jones, Mariota, or a Winston type QB will make us champions. Too many teams that are becoming to match our talent. Playoff system makes it too hard.

cardale jones has played two and half games. mariota would have gotten snapped in half if he played in the SEC, and more to the point didn't win a championship. and kelvin benjamin made winston what he was; take away kelvin benjamin in 2013 and auburn wins the bcs championship game by ten points.

i agree with danielson... the les miles era is loaded with offensive coordinators calling horrible pass plays that don't match the quarterback's abilities and/or the play develops too slow and leaves the quarterback vulnerable in the pocket. even with mettenberger, who had an amazing senior season was sacked about ten times his senior year because plays developed too slow and he had no choice but to take a sack because no one was open.

Like running the ball four straight times while inside the 2 yard line ... and not scoring!!! (vs Ms State)

i don't know what florida state team you watched last year, but winston was very sloppy... throwing lots of interceptions in the first half which led to the seminoles constantly having to play from behind to multiple inferior opponents.
