What are the conditions like in the Uplands? Is Clemson at home this weekend? Doubt Charlotte( NFL ) would allow it? GA dome is probably best option or it will be +1 in Nov.

Hilton Head is 300 miles from Atlanta. I can't remember where Columbia is relative to HH.

ETA: Columbia to Atlanta is 215 miles, straight I-20.

I live in the Upstate, we got some rain, but very little compared to Columbia or the Lowcountry. Sunny now, could get a bit more rain tonight, but nothing after that. Columbia has a similar forecast.

Clemson has a home game against Georgia Tech on Saturday, so that's out. The Panthers do have a bye week, so Charlotte could be an option if we can make it work with the race going on there as well.

LSU lost a home game bc of weather for McNeese. Logical thing would be to bring the game TO BR.

how is that logical???

Why penalize So. Carolina because we lost a home game to an OOC team. Make absolutely zero sense.

I don't see how this can be played at all in CAE this weekend. Are they gonna throw evac's out of the hotels so LSU and the Band can have a place to sleep? Hardly. Even though precip is forecast to clear, they've had so much water it will take months to get back to normal.

My SC friends are saying it'll be in Columbia.

Also, just fyi:

@DCTheState: Williams-Brice update: Online picture of flooded field is not real. Turf is soggy but should be fine for Saturday's game.

Its not the turf that is in question, its the surrounding areas, the hotels, water, etc....

I know, just adding that tweet to the conversation. He forwarded me an alumni association email that said they plan on keeping the game in Columbia...as of now.

Again, the field and stadium are not the concerns regarding the game.

that is probably true.

i just read that the river causing most of the flooding in the Columbia area has crested.

all of the usc posters say the game will happen.

the media does have away of sensationalizing these type of situations.

i guess it comes down to if enough of the people it takes to host a 90 thousand person football game will be available.

Certainly not unprecedented to move a game, and The LSU Tigers are a part of that history. LSU's second game of the 2005 season with Arizona State was moved from Baton Rouge to Tempe following Katrina.
