So this is your 11th post and you are telling us that we don't know how young this team is? This has been discussed a lot on here, about every week somewhere it is discussed.

We know we are young and have guys departing early for the NFL but at some point that just doesn't work anymore. Notre Dame has been decimated by injuries this year and look where they are. We have NFL talent, a few injuries and look at where we are?

LSU had a chance to compete this year, even after Bama, and laid a royal egg at home.

I'm on the "how you lose" bandwagon.

Losing to Alabama by a field goal? A touchdown? Understandable. Games are tough.

But a butt-whoopin' by Alabama?

And Arkansas? Really? In Tiger Stadium? There is absolutely NO defense this season. And a run play at the 11-yd line is predictable.

Can we get a wild pass/run scheme....please!

And for God sakes.....watch the middle and tackle!

So by your admission if Les doesn't win a NC next year he should be fired?

Awesome. Bookmarked for the week after Bama next season.

That simple means those young men could have had 3 SEC Championships by time they graduate.

Travin is already touting the leave for the NFL. He's on the fence right now.

I feel bad about convincing him to pick LSU long ago.

I agree with the op we are young and even more our front seven on d is thin , but what frustrates me is it seems our coaches never make adjustments during a game....

If what we are doing is not working we are screwed .....

The same mistakkes and penalties over his entire career here have proved to me that the man is incapable of learning. I lost my mind in ark game when we had two procedure penalties in a row and then the players are starring at the sidelines as the clock runs down Nuthin has changed

Oh right.

Our annual excuse now.

"We're yuuuuunnnggggg!!!"

For LSU, it's always "next year."

We're always young and gonna win the natty next year and Bama is always gonna lose a bunch of folks and be rebuilding and next year we're gonna beat 'em and rinse and repeat.

LSU is always "young" and "inexperienced."

Bama, even in their "rebuilding" years wins or plays for the NC.

For LSU, it's ALWAYS "next year."

For Alabama, EVERY year is "next year."

Everybody has young talent playing. Even QBs across the country are young. Not to often do you here of senior any thing these days, from any where.

What's funny is I didn't laugh at all.

LSU's payers get the hell out of town as soon as they are eligible for the draft.

It doesn't have to be viewed as an excuse. This team was ranked 2nd in the nation despite that youth. I keep seeing hardass fans bash this comment of youth, but it's pretty amazing to field the youngest team in the SEC and still have high expectations of them. A Bama win away from still controlling their destiny....although it's unsure how they will finish.

Look at the 2012 and 2013 classes and you can the problem...attrition and player not playing to their full potential or weren't that talented to begin with.. looking back those two classes were god awful.. LSU is nowhere near talented as some may suggest

Youth has been an excuse for like 3 seasons....it doesn't work that way.

Lael collins..
Already outstanding player. Comes back senior year and is unstoppable
Is that why Les ran it to the right side 92% of the time last year against State?

You can't, in one hand, use early PT as a freshman as a recruiting pitch every year and then use that as a crutch when things go wrong.

This program relies heavily on it's ability to recruit players that are instantly game ready every year,v and it recruits like so. You can't have it both ways.

Or can you?

I agree with the OP that this team is young, but I question if that too is the fault of the coaching.

Ask yourself. why doesn't LSU have players waiting in the wings that are ready to take over when a player leaves for the NFL? I think for the most part it's because Les doesn't know how to prep players and bring them along to be ready. How many times have we heard him say, "We meant to get (insert player name) some playing time, but it didn't happen. That's on me." And when you look back at the game, there was absolutely NO REASON why that player could not get in the game! Except that the head coach did not make it happen. It's usually the QB that is in question, because that's the position that is most evident to the fans. But if it's happening to the QB, it's probably happening at other positions also.

Look, I love Les as a human being, nobody can argue that he's not a good man, but enough is enough. From the cryptic post game excuses, to the poor game management, to the misuse of talent. It just has to stop. If he was coaching in another conference, he might be able to get away with his short falls, but not in the SEC. Other coaches are on to him and they are exploiting his coaching style. Superior talent is the only thing that has continually allowed him to win against most teams. Face it, he's getting out coached or overwhelmed under pressure when it counts.
