Face it, he's getting out coached or overwhelmed under pressure when it counts.

Also, the SEC--particularly the West--is much better from top to bottom than when Les came to LSU.

It's an arms race and we're now losing.

Look I agree. But it's not that LSU is losing. It's that they're losing in a dominating fashion and the staff does not adapt.

I refuse to let you pumpers get me off track. Go back and watch the game. It's like pulling teeth.

Why do we recruit tight ends? I mean, wouldnt it be better to just get some bigger guys that cant catch? It's not like we have utilized them in a passing role the last 4 yrs...

Because the head man is selling his program on it and not winning for the school. It's a dumbass strategy to boost recruiting. Where does it hurt the most? I'll answer that; on the offensive and defensive lines.

I agree. It's both attrition AND how we either can't develop players or we develop them too slowly

It's aggravating how every player who has an outside chance at making a practice squad bolts early. Meanwhile Bama every year has players like Ragland who should be on an NFL team somewhere already.

Yep, points to a culture issue within the program

I think every year that I can remember the "We are young" excuse gets used. Who's fault is that?

LSU has been blown out 5 times in the last 3 years, not counting MSU

It be one thing if we were competing and losing close games. Then you could point to the youth imo

Oh look another year of us proclaiming youth is the issue and it'll all be better next year.

It isn't an excuse, but Bama recruits the same or better quality athletes. We just played a bunch of freshmen and sophomores vs juniors and seniors who have had extra years to develop. We can talk scheme all day long, but that is a recipe to get beat down.

Yet we were able to outplay them last year with a younger team

That was more than just experience

Our current situation has alot to do with how young/ inexperienced our team is

So you are saying that our 2011 and 2012 recruiting classes were awful? I mean, that's where our stud juniors and seniors should have come from. Where are they? Either they weren't studs, or they bolted early to the NFL. But you know what, I don't recall losing any underclassmen to the draft last year.

I thought Les was a dynamite recruiter?

they still have experience.. which is most important.. youth is not a good excuse in college football today.

How about we realize how young this team really is..

We're always young. Next year we'll be young. The year after that we'll be young. And so on. Having a young team is one thing LSU is consistent at. The other is being eliminated from the SEC West race with still a quarter of the conference schedule left to play (7th time in 8 years).

Can't use youth as an exuse in college football anymore. Highly touted freshman are expected to come in and contribute immediately. The game has changed.

good post; you have opened my eyes to the youth situation.

LSU fans are always over the top and I find myself that way at times also. I think the biggest frustration I have is that we can't "get it together" for any one year. one year where we don't have to play the youth on a wholesale basis; one year where we don't have a major hole at one position.

our qb woes have soured many fans. and next year, it could very well be the OL.

Youth did not lose the game to Arkansas. Alabama was just better than us.
