I believe the "starting" fullback is supposed to be JD Moore and then Ducre as a FB/RB..... Who else can be a reliable FB? Any possible thoughts on Nick Brossette possibly being converted because of the log jam at the RB spot?

Tony Upchurch and BryKeithon Mouton will both be in FB role, along with Moore and Ducre. Brossette will be RB all the way.

Tony Upchurch imo doesnt have what it takes to be a FB. Lots of big cat drills where he doesnt seem aggressive and tends to always lose. Also goal line drills, tends to shy away from contact. I fully believe he wont play much.... Just my two cents though

Ducre is going to be a monster in the FB position. He's Copeland's size coming out of high school with track speed and good agility.

I think he's going to be very successful during his LSU tenure.

Man it seems this kid name has been mentioned at every position, played WR in high school, rummblings about him playing TE when he got here in the summer, and now he is at fullback. I hope he finds a home and is productive.

I think we could see Jeter some. He played H-back in our goal line formation a bunch last year.

I agree 7Tiger7. I think the staff is trying to find a spot for him and this is Tony's 2nd year. Maybe he can help on STs. Moore played last year and Mouton seems to have the build for the position. Ducre is an interesting alternative with his speed and size.

No way NB plays here with his weight...running back period.

Just imagine if we ran some wishbone formations...... Fournette and Williams/Guice at RB, with Ducre at FB, and Malachi and Dural at WR.... PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN, LES MILES AND CAM CAMERON

It's fine just the way it is. The i-formation and thus the fullback position are outmoded.

There's no sense in LSU not using the single back or formations with two RBs or an H back. Too much talent not to use all of it.

Haha yea that was my fault for saying possibly converting Nick to FB. Dont know why, but I believed he was heavier as in more like 225-230..... Found out hes listed at 214

If history tells us anything, Miles will convert some undervalued defensive player to play the fullback position.

Quinn Johnson was a LB
JC Copeland was a DE
Melvin Jones was a LB

Of course, none of those guys made the switch when Cameron was the OC. He's probably going to try and find his Lorenzo Neal at LSU, and Ducre just might fit the bill.

Mouton...

He will end up being the main fullback. And Ducre will play more RB than FB.

Brossette's too small to be a fullback. I think that by the end of the season Ducre is gonna be taking most of the snaps there. Dudes an animal

Absolutely.

As a 5'11" 240 lb. senior in HS, he ran a 10.70 100m and a 22.62 200m.

That is flying for 240 lbs. He is a freak of nature.

He is also very agile, with good cut back ability and elusiveness to go on top of his 500+ lb. squatting strength.

Guy will be a fricking hoss for us. If he has good ball security, I see him being a favorite of Les Miles.

ETA:

Copeland was 5'11" 240 in HS as well FWIW I believe. He got up to about 260 his senior year and I see Ducre doing something similar. So basically he's like Copeland, but is an actual RB in high school with average RB speed and agility but in a FB body.
