Four Special Teams Penalties and flipped field all night...

A block in the back on a kick that wasn't even returned. A delay of game...ON A KICKOFF?
Give me a damn break. Look Peveto is a dynamic guy from a personality perspective. He's got charisma and is dynamic one on one. He's an above average recruiter.
But we just brought in two fantastic recruiters in Steele and Orgeron. We are not hurting in recruiting and I'm not sure exactly what Peveto has added.
What I am sure of is what his coaching is taking away from us on Special Teams. How the coverage units are giving teams hidden yardage. How kickers are inconsistent. How poorly coached players are committing penalties. How all of this adds up into field position being flipped, and creating problems for our offense that dictate the style of play call and the defense that creates shorter fields and more pressure.
We need more than sound bytes. We need improvement.

nothing destroys a good unit faster than BDP

I just don't understand why we don't have a kicker that can kick it in the end zone on kickoffs...

We've played four games against average to weak teams (two @ home, one in a dome) and other than FGs and a kick return for a TD...we've looked horrible!
Considering the talent we have and the number of top-ranked athletes who are standing on the sidelines (2nd & 3rd string who could start for many teams nationwide), there is absolutely NO reason this unit shouldn't be the best on the team.
I like Peveto but this is ridiculous. If your kicker can't get the ball to the end zone, it may not be coaching. When your guys continue to fail to fill their lanes and allow returns to the 30,35, 40...it's coaching.
ALSO...WHY IN THE HELL DON'T WE BRING PRESSURE ON THE OPPOSING PUNTER? We run in a few feet and then stop. What the hell is that?

If there would have been any effort whatsoever on one of those punt attempts, Trey Quinn could have easily blocked that punt. It was pathetic how lackluster of an attempt we make to actually pressure the punter.
