Think you are spending way too much time in Madrid. I'd do Madrid for maybe a day. Barcelona for 1-2 days as well. The bigger metropolitans, although cool, tend to lose some of the local/cultural feel. Try Coruna, Malaga in addition to some of the places I mentioned above. Start here. The...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Spain/France Trip question - Scoobahdoo on 4/20/16 at 10:55 am
Well, that just what I needed! So I think we are gonna stick to Spain. Barcelona 2-3 days, Madrid 2-3 days and countryside the rest of the way! Thanks for all of the advice!!...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)
Spain/France Trip question - Scoobahdoo on 4/20/16 at 9:37 am
Wife and I's 20th anniversary next year. Never been to Europe before, so I have a lot of questions. Could this trip be done in about 12 days? Fly into Madrid, then move on to Barcelona, the up to Bordeaux, then to Paris to fly out....is this too much traveling for the 12 days? Thanks...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (5)
re: Napa Valley weekend recommendations - Scoobahdoo on 4/16/16 at 8:10 am
We will be there in late June also! We have been driving a little further north in the valley and staying in Calistoga. Small downtown but restaurants are great and all within walking distance. We stay at Luxe Calistoga B&B. The 4 course breakfast is awesome! As far as wineries, it depends on what w...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: When did Laffy turn into chain restaurant central? - Scoobahdoo on 3/11/16 at 1:45 pm
There are at least 8 freakin chains going into that new Costco cluster center. Though I do hope that Mexican place is good. Laffy Mexican is terrible.
El Portrillo on Moss St. In the old Puzza Village...not the fanciest but food is authentic and dirt cheap. Nobody that works there ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (1)
re: Mickey Shunick case on some show on ID. Just started - Scoobahdoo on 3/9/16 at 8:45 am
We actually did surgery to repair the ruptured tendon from one of his stab wounds. He gave the same story that he was jumped in NOLA. The other curious thing is that he was full of poison ivy....from burying that poor girl in the woods. I hope he's getting in the arse right now from a guy named Bubb...
I still think these are a bit young but the Round Pond was really intriguing.
We also visited Round Pond! Loved there wines!! Their Sav Blanc was really good! The tastin room is an open air, 2nd story balcony overlooking their vineyards. Also, they own the only olive press in Napa....Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)

Thanks for starting this thread!! My wife and I are wine geek ourselves! We've been drinking wine for about 10 years but just recently started collecting. We took our first trip to Napa last summer and liked it so much that we went back for harvest! We stayed in Calistoga because it was kinda tucked...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (0)
re: Havanese puppies - Scoobahdoo on 11/15/15 at 7:48 pm
We have a Havanese. Best dog we have ever had. We got her from a certified breeder in Jeanerette, LA. She does not shed and is good with everyone. This lady breeds them to be about 9 lbs. full grown. Her website is: www.southernsilkspuppies.com...
I am so sick of the 'young' excuse- you either 'have-it' or you don't. Harris is not the long-term answer; he has made some nice throws at times, but it is starting to look like he has 'maxed out' as to his ability.
I totally agree with this!! They're QB's with less experience than...

re: Grand Coteau Bistro - Scoobahdoo on 10/21/15 at 2:12 pm
Yes..we went for the first time last week. We both came away very impressed. The entrées were diverse. I had the lamb and my wife had the black drum. The charcuterie plate was outstanding. The wife had the lemon drop martini, which she liked a lot. The wine list needs a little work though. Overall, ...Jump to Post - View Topic - Replies (2)
Do people still catch bass there? We have a camp on the south end and I've never put much effort into fishing it.
I caught a couple of 2-3 pounders off of my pier throwing towards the bulkhead with a crank bait. Right when the sun is coming up! Where is your camp? We are right acro...
