Just going to reiterate this point that race was brought into this particular discussion because there were multiple posters jumping to the conclusion that it was black on black crime. That is what brought race into this discussion. Not Democrats, not African Americans, not the mainstream media. Look in the freakin mirror people

This kind of killing is stupid and senseless. Evidently, the a**hole knew he was going to kill him when he got out of his car with a gun. It seems as though life is being devalued more and more each day. Stuff like this kills us all, a little bit at a time. So sad. RIP Joe, and my thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

What the frick does this mean??? Is there a part of Terrytown off limits to black men?

I lived on the westbank for 15 years, and there were places that were not safe to be in. Terrytown used to not be that bad, but recently my daughter was going to move there with my grand daughter and had to rethink the move due to her finding out how bad that area has gotten. And it doesn't matter if you're black or white, it's now a dangerous area to be in.

Wasn't Coach Orgeron one of his prime recruiters? Seems like I remember that, think it was mentioned in the book Meat Market. I think O was at USC at the time.

I live in the city and drive through Terrytown every day. There are assuredly parts, as most cities, that you don't want to be in. Terrytown is no exception. It's a shame that he died at such a young age and in such a tragic way. RIP

Supposedly, J.T. pushed him to SC to get him away from his neighborhood. I have a friend who coaches AAU ball or independent ball. He was familiar with Joe's story. Senseless. Hope tge perp. is caught and rots in Angola.
