Exactly.

My buddy is also a cracker, he got some stupid grant set up by some rich benefactor just for basketball players.

Technically they don't. But the do provide preferred enrollment for athletes and then they give them "grant and aid" up the wazoo until school is basically paid for.

ETA: I read further after I posted and saw that you know this.

Who was the poster here who claimed until he was blue in the face that Scott didn’t get an equal opportunity?

Sounds like LouzianneFootball or whatever his name is.

Kid was never accepted at Harvard.
A Harvard coach expressed interest in Scott. That and getting in are two different things.

He absolutely would've gotten into an Ivy.

- Minority? Check.
- D1 level football player? Check.
- 4.0? Check.
- Very good test scores? Check.

No. He made a 25 on his ACT. Not bad, but certainly not great

But yes, a 3.8 and 25 would have gotten him in still.

And these are the guys we recruit to LSU. Until we get better talent evaluators at that position. I’ll be worried the second Burrow leaves.

eh, he was offered very late in the process and was a flyer for a scout team body. No one who recruited him ever expected him to contribute here.

They knew his talent level, he wasn't brought to LSU to be a starting quarterback regardless of what his Zachary High fan club tells you.
