Forget about whether or not O was the right hire, is he overpaid?

Let's say fit is the most important thing, and assume he will pull a great OC and retain Aranda.

If the reports of 3-4 million a year are accurate, why is he making more than Will Muschamp? Who were we bidding against?

Why not start him at say 2-2.5 mill, which is still a massive raise from his previous salary, with an immediate huge jump if he wins the SEC or even qualifies for a major bowl game in year 1??

I just think the whole hometown discount narrative doesn't make much sense given that he's only costing us 1 million less than Miles did, who had won multiple SEC titles and a NC.

Seems like such a needless overpayment for a guy that would have taken the job for much less.

If the shadow staff is so important and such a big part of the plan, wouldn't a million bucks have gone a long way to making that happen?

Just one more piece of Alleva's thought process that makes very little sense to me.

Yes, considering we now have to unload millions to hire a good OC and to keep Aranda so we have people that actually coach

This is what I don't get

Who was going to outbid us for him? And it's his dream job?

Why isn't he in the 2.5 range

Who cares? Pay the man 10 million if you want, the LSU athletic department makes a huge profit every year, overpaying a coach will not hurt us at all or our chances to go get a top coordinator

I've been asking the same questions. Why did we pay him so much? I woulda thought 2million would have been generous.

3 million would have been appropriate with pay raise structure if he wins SEC West or SEC or BCS bowls.

Joe is an idiot.

How much is Orgeron getting paid?

Wasn't Miles getting around 4.1 million? 3 million sounds about right for Orgeron. Still leaves plenty for Aranda and the OC and the rest of the staff.

He's way overpaid. If his success is completely reliant on getting high paid coordinators then what the frick is he there for. He's just a recruiting coordinator with a head coach tag and salary.

man you are really lost. There is a lot more to being a head coach than just recruiting coordinating.

No you are lost. There is SUPPOSED to be a lot more to being a HC than just recruit coordinating yet that is all he is good for. He brings nothing else to the table. His best in game quality is "staying out of his coordinators way" so again I ask what are you paying him HC money for?

Dude would have taken the job at his current salary, but Joe wanted LSU to look like we got the top notch guy he promised and show this proof with the salary. Good ole dumbo Joe.

So how many coaches would take an SEC head job at defensive line coach pay?

Maybe South Carolina and Georgia could have gotten their head coaches at their coordinator pay

you are really dumb if that is all you think Orgeron brings to the table. Why don't you go be a fan of some other team (which you probably already are and are just here trolling, trying make LSU fans look like retards)
