Cut the cord recently for the same reason. Now I pay 80 for Gigabit fiber through ATT and 35 for DirecTV now (you could probably get away with just internet if you didn't care about cable too much, you might have trouble finding some sec network games though).

40 bucks for a over the air antenna and 90 bucks for a HD HomeRun Connect to send that signal over my network and out to the internet if needed.

Let's me watch pretty much any LSU (big 3) sporting event from anywhere with cell service.

Down from 220+ for slower internet and non DVR cable through Comcast .

i just pay my cable bill and dont worry about trying to cheap out with bullshite streams, streaming is last option imo. My charter bill is like 140 a month for 100mbps internet and silver package

Bar's a great thought but the bar bill may far exceed the cable bill. :rotflmao:

I pay $35 per month for YouTube tv.

That’s it. I have yet to miss an LSU game and I’ve never paid a penny over $35 per month for all of my tv.

Finally cut the cord and regret not doing it earlier. I have an Xbox one and Use it for YouTube TV. Gets everything I used to get with cable including SEC network.

Not hard at all....Just about every game LSU plays is on TV, or a channel I get on cable. Message board of Tigerdroppings and reports from the Advocate give me all I need to know.
Also have SEC network. So, not losing any access

I’m not sure about antennas. I get the local CBS, ABC, FOX and NBC affiliates on Hulu.

YouTube TV. $40/month. Saved me $120/month over DirecTV. Has all the channels we watch. Actually has more sports channels. Unlimited DVR. Watch on any device. Roku has the app. I'm able to watch YouTube TV on five different TVs in my house. Also, you have full access to your TV while at work (if this applies to you). I watched all of the world cup matches at while at work. YouTube TV is legit. They add channels frequently as well.

If you’re “cutting the cord” it shouldn’t cost anything right? Otherwise you aren’t cutting the cord.

Youtube Tv.

$40/mo, no contract and no taxes/fees.

You get all of your local channels plus the ESPN channels, Fox Sports channels, etc...

You do not get NFL network.

ETA: For whatever reason, you don't get prime time events for NBC. I bought a "digital receiver" to remedy this.

I paid $40 for this one and am happy with it. Clearance right now! Should be stocked in your local store.
Also, YouTubeTV will give you your local CBS channel (and other local channels). FoxNews comes with YouTubeTV, too.

Cutting services allowing you to watch the Tigers is a nominal charge. If your cable is out of control, it has nothing to do with watching LSU sports.

uverse internet
hulu live tv (playstation vue before that, sling tv before that)
netflix
"borrowing" in laws' amazon prime access
digital antenna for ota network content

cut cable 4 years ago. haven't missed it one bit. not even for live sports which was my biggest concern at the time.

we were paying over $200. now we're not even paying $100 and we have access to every bit of the content we watched with cable
