Didn't go to LSU, went to Middle Tenn State. Family all from LA. Mom lives there still along with grandmother and everyone else. Dad is a die hard and it rubbed off on me. Been in tiger gear since I was a young'n.

WTF? I doubt many on this board feel this way.

Its really sad if you hate any team more than you love your own. Its even worse if its team that your team never plays. Nothing but bitter jealousy.

Grew up in Birmingham and my dad was a Vanderbilt grad. We went to Vandy games and this was the 70's, so other than a brief flurry in the mid 70's, there wasn't much to get excited about.

Couldn't stand Alabama or Auburn growing up. Applied to Alabama as basically a "safety school" but never gave any thought in going. Wanted to go out of state and at the time at least, LSU's out of state tuition plus tuition itself was very inexpensive. Paid about $125 a semester more than had I gone to Ala.

Grew up in S Ontario so its Big 10 country and growing up I was a Penn St (it’s a bit tough to take these days) but ended up in grad school at LSU and never looked back (although the Hallman years were tough). Not many Tiger fans in great white north unlike other pgms that have more national exposure.

Grew up in Tennessee. All my family, parents/cousins/grandparents went to UTK. Only one in my family to NOT go there. Looked at USCe, CofC, UTK and LSU. Went down to Baton Rouge (stepmoms family is from BR/Houma) for thanksgiving and never looked back.

I'm now that awkward member of my family with LSU shite on surrounded by orange in the already awkward family photo on the beach.

You just described 75% of Alabama and Auburn fans.

i remember what campus used to look like prior to 2003 at 6:00 am on a saturday morning
pretty packed, actually. I was in school from 1999-2003, and we set up our tent across the street from the Indian Mounds every home game between 5-6 a.m. There were plenty of people out there and music blaring. I would argue people were more excited about things in 2000 than in 2003.

At least they hate each other and they are in the same state and same conference.

Do Bama fans hate Fla State? Why would an LSU fan hate Texas.

never understood this other than the occasional recruiting battle or smack talk.

grew up in texas and lived in atx for a while, sure there were some obnoxious douches but every fan base has those. most of them pulled for us when they'd watch games with me.

This is seriously in the top 5 dumbest comments I have ever read on this board. So LSU fans are bandwagon fans if they don't hate UT more than they love LSU? Wow.

Figured that may stir things up a little... I grew up around UT fans and they are simply pathetic. Total sense of entitlement. They truly think that if they can beat OU and run through the rest of their cake sheet unscathed that the rest of the football world should bow at their feet. They don't tailgate, they sit down the entire game. Anyway, I don't think it's jealousy, I've just been on the receiving end of a lot of BS from Texas fans and have been outnumbered by them most of the time. It's made the ride from about 1996 to today all the sweeter.

Didn't they beat us by a couple of touchdowns in the 2003 Cotton Bowl?

Still bitter that mommy and daddy couldn't get you into UT with that 1050 on the SAT?

That's very true. You may also remember they were highly touted preseason and totally flopped while LSU was building and did pretty good to make Tito the cotton bowl.

I'm more referring to the revival of the football program that was catalyzed in my opinion by the 1996 Indy bowl win.
