I am an international student. I got accepted to Rutgers, a very good university for electrical Engineering. MY student visa was rejected. I chose to go to LSU for visa. I knew nothing about it. Just liked the name and the fact it was cheaper than norhtern school. Best decision I have made. Now I am a crazy LSU fan. Married a beautiful Louisiana girl and love everything about LSU and will fight, fight, fight for tigers till we win.

From the Chicago area. Did undergrad at Illinois State and Northern Illinois (still a casual NIU fan). Had options for grad school, decided to get out of the midwest...took a flyer on moving to LSU and loved it from the second I got there. Back in Chicago now, but

Grew up in West KY. Back in the late 70's UK, when my brother went there, was actually competitive in the SEC. I went to Murray State (Div 1A) which while I was there was top 5 in the country under Mike Gottfried, Frank Beamer, Ron Zook, and Houston Nutt.
Moved to BTR in 1982 and was instantly converted to LSU fan just due to the game day experience. Over the years I have become much more passionate about it.
Never converted to LSU basketball fan and never will. Geaux Wildcats!

My mom went to La Tech, my dad went to LSU for one semester and partied right out. I grew up just watching whatever football team was on TV....FSU, ND, Neb, U, ec...... In 98 my brother went to LSU. I came down to visit and went to a game......done I was going to LSU.
