For those stuck in traffic after games, where do you park/leave from?

So full disclosure, I park in the Ag Lot at the corner of Highland/South Stadium every game. Outside of a handful of times in the last 15 years, I can generally walk all the way back to my car, head off of campus, and be at my house in Prairieville in less than an hour. Are there certain choke points on the other side of campus that are so screwed up that people are stuck in non-moving lines or unable to get out of their lots after games? Has it always been that way, or have recent traffic changes increased the problem?

We normally park in the field behind the TV lot by the vet med and it's slow going but nothing out the ordinary when trying to get 100k people out of an area that has like 3 roadways out.

Last year we parked in the lot in front of walk ons and stayed till the end. Walked to the car and we're on the interstate quicker than I expected

Since the 80's, we've been parking in front of Kirby towers. Now that's gone, so I parked at the levee. Took two hour to get to the interstate.

I make it back to my parents house off O'Neal & S. Harrell's Ferry usually within 35-45 minutes of getting to my car. Usually tailgate with a buddy who has a condo by VooDoo BBQ. Pay $20 and park on Nicholson as close to his condo as possible just north of the gates. Head north on Nicholson and cut over to Highland and hit Louise St. and you're at the I-10 east onramp in no time.

Ceba Lot/South Stadium/Stanford/I-10 WB. Easy Peasey. Last week, 10 minutes to the interstate. After a big game, maybe 30 minutes, or we may listen to the post game in the parking lot for a while until it clears out a bit.

If people would study the maps and figure out where to park so they can go with the contraflow, it would solve a lot of problems. If the contraflow is going in the wrong direction from where you want to go, you have to go with it and find a place to turn, or wait a while until they take the controls off. Find another lot that allows you exit in the direction you want to go.

If you leave after the game, you shouldn't have a problem leaving. Half the stadium has already left

this is my problem...after the games, I am forced in the opposite direction that I want to go. unfortunately, over many years of trying to upgrade, I have never been able to get a parking pass in a lot that sends me in the right direction.

Usually takes me 30 minutes to get from Hayfield lots to Bluebonnet, and from there to I-10 very easily.

I usually tailgate about an hour or two after the game so traffic has cleared a good bit by then. But I leave the levee lot on Gourrier, and cross over and go down Burbank because the traffic around Fred's and Reggies is unbearable.
I drive Burbank to Gardere, and turn on Gardere to get on 30 to take me to i10.

It's the best route I have found, but like I said I'm not sure how busy this route is right after a game.

I park at the old Alex Box lot. I turn left on River Road and then to Brightside which is where I live. I stayed until the sack that won the game. I hit traffic on River Road and then stop and go up to 5mph driving down Brightside. I believe Brightside became a major choke point once the Hayfield lots become so popular due to the fact that it's a free lot.... In the last 3-4 years I have started riding my bike home to avoid sitting in traffic for an hour for a 4 mile trip.... I definitely don't ride my bike home for the games that my younger kids attend.

I think most of the complaints come from people parked Southwest of the Stadium...mainly in the hayfield lots. Lots of concentration of parking and a good bit of two lane roads over there to get you out.

Thats where I park, it's a nightmare trying to get down Nicholson. I always post up at pluckers until it dies down.

I park on stadium drive and contract flow sends me to standford then perkins. I stayed the whole game and once I got in my truck I got home in less than 25 minutes.

Free Park behind the Law School every game. Exit right onto Dalrymple and make it onto I-10 in about 30 minutes or sooner, depending on the game. We always have the post-game on the radio, so it goes by pretty fast.

BTW, Post-Game is now "Listenable" without High School Boy. Culotta & the Prince are light years better and not annoying/irritating. I can now actually leave the show on until Hannigriff comes on.......
