I actually don't think it's inconceivable. Here's what would have to happen and it's not that unlikely.

The SEC, ACC, and Big Ten will have a team in the Final Four. The fourth spot will likely be occupied by a PAC-12 school or Notre Dame

LSU would need to lose to Alabama and have Alabama win SEC title game.

The Clemson-FSU loser will have one loss. The winner will very likely win ACC title game. For sake of this argument the one-loss ACC possibility is FSU.

The Big 12 is getting one team, even if multiple teams have one loss. For sake of argument, let's say it's Baylor. The one-loss team is TCU. The Big 12 not having a title game would actually help LSU as it helps with the argument that would come against LSU for not having to play in a title game.

In the Big Ten, Ohio State, Iowa, and MSU are the only possibilities. Iowa is going to play in the Big Ten title game. MSU and Ohio State still have to play one another. For the sake of this argument, Ohio State wins Big Ten over Iowa, which eliminates the Hawkeyes. MSU is added to mix of one-loss teams with TCU, FSU, and LSU.

PAC-12: If Utah wins out it's in and that would all but eliminate LSU. Yet, Utah's back half is challenging. Utah also has to win a PAC-12 title game, probably against Stanford. Stanford has to play Notre Dame and the loser of that game suffers its second loss.

So, likely scenario is Big Ten, SEC, and Big 12 champ, along with I hate to say it: Notre Dame; or Stanford or Utah if they run the table.

If Notre Dame loses to Stanford and Stanford beats Utah, the final spot will come down to one-loss LSU, TCU (or Baylor), one loss Florida State (or Clemson), or one loss Michigan State (or Ohio State).

If I had to bet today I'm going to say Baylor, Ohio State, SEC champ, and Notre Dame, although the road to the Final Four with a close loss at Alabama is not inconceivable.

The biggest games outside of LSU winning is Stanford-Notre Dame as loser is eliminated. Stanford, or someone else, would then need to beat Utah.

NO WAY IN HELL the committee allows 2 teams from the same conference in the 4 team playoff.

We will have to run the table to be assured a shot. We could have lost an earlier game like Bama did and probably still had a good chance by winning all the rest. It's the same every year.....lose against Bama and there's your season. We still have tough games against Ole Miss, A&M, and yes, even Arkansas who always plays us tough and usually has nothing to lose at that point in their season.

Media bias like this is why we can't get in with 1 loss. Count the number of LSU vs. Bama players on the list and then look at the title of the article.
