That's the rule. It's like crossing the plane of the goal line. The tip of the football defines the line of scrimmage.
It's a lot like that. Except that you are arguing for a single line rising from the tip of the football, not extending the plane from sideline to sideline.... you know, like the black line of scrimmage.

Yes, but the black line you see behind his helmet doesn't show where his head is in relationship to the black line at his feet.

Well Doc, I know when to keep my mouth shut on football, given some of the Lombardi's on here, so I sure as shite am not going to argue physics with you!

This is the rant... Clearly you should claim to be an expert in physics and argue all the more forcefully.

If the ball is on the aTm 49 then the camera is not on the 50. It's at least past the LSU 49. Looks closer to the LSU 43/45.

No. I have a PhD in high energy particle physics.

Then you are obviously educated beyond your intelligence. Good job.

Yes we were.

However, it's not like they called back a go-ahead TD on a bad call, it was 3rd and 10 at their 49, they would've had 3rd and 5 at the LSU 46 with about 1:20 to go and 1 timeout. That's hardly a guaranteed comeback situation - although Bama has shown it can be done against this LSU defense. Could A&M? We'll never know because LSU won the game.
