The last thing these Tards here want is for LSU to put it together and make a serious late season run. That would mean they were "wrong", which is really all they care about anyway. They would have to stay off this board way too much and have to eat too much sh*t for being negative clowns all the time. A much improving LSU team that they've already buried would be their death march.

Mainieri in the paper after the KY series:

We have the same SEC record we had through 18 games a year ago and we finished strong last season, so this season is going to be defined by how we play over the next few weeks. Things can change so quickly in this league from week to week, and we still have 12 very important conference games to play, along with our three remaining non-conference games.”

I struggle to find the strength of the team. It really looks like we have one elite bat and no elite arms.

Strength of the team is defense and its elite.
Other than that, we're average. The disappointing thing to me is the inconsistencies with the starting pitching. I think we all expected that to be a strength.

What a stupid fricking comment. Man, some of you people are really stupid.

I was comparing Miles to Maineiri. What had Miles accomplished of significance over the last 5 years. That's why he was fired. CPM has accomplished things the last few years. He hasn't accomplished the big thing but he has done some things and the program remains one of the best in the country. My original argument is comparing the two coaches when there just isn't much comparison.

We both know there is a reason you are not using 6. Les made it to the National Championship more recently than CPM. Reason he was fired was because of his stubborn, blatant lies about change, and not beating bama.

one CWS win

No. 5 straight national seeds which is kinda like going into a bowl game as a top 10 team. If that's failure then I don't think we will ever find someone that would want to coach here

Yeah we still have a shot at a national seed... if we go on a 12-game winning streak leading into the Miss. St. series

Les was fired because of what happened the previous five years. Not because what he did in 2011 which was a great year that he doesn't get enough credit for in my opinion. That's why I used the 5 years.

In those 5 years CPM has been a national seed every year winning 2 SEC championship. 2 sec tourney championships and making it to Omaha twice. That is something of significance.

I liked Les and wished he would have figured it out but he didn't and it was time to move on. I am not a huge fan of CPM but I understand that he is one of the best out there and it is not time to move on yet. With that being said this season doesn't turn around and next season is similar then we can revisit this conversation and it might be time.

but 2 of 3 on the road at bama wouldnt be a disappointment to me

We need 3, they only have 2 SEC wins on the year, we can't let them take 1 from us.

Agree this needs to be a clean sweep.

Series @ gumps: They are flat out bad. 2/3 would be a disappointment. We sweep with one game being close.

They gave State everything they wanted in Starkville.

If we don't sweep Bama I will officially throw in the towel on this season.

Yep, three one-run games, one of the games went 13 innings.

it's disappointing that you think the frustration is merely about this past weekend or a couple of series this season. it's much bigger than that and this season is just exacerbating the problem

everything he has done in the regular season the last five years
who cares about this? this is a sport with a post season playoff and lsu is supposed to be an elite program. omaha wins are all that matter. everything else is window dressing, like stupid national seeds.

based on what?

has finished top 8 after the last five regular seasons
so you're ok with lsu being behind several other programs who are actually winning games in omaha? no lsu fan should be ok with that

if lsu won several cws games this season, lsu would STILL be outclassed by a few other programs since 2010. you're ok with that?

this is a horrible analogy. national seeds have basically no meaning in college baseball, ESPECIALLY for elite programs.

lsu is being surpassed by SEVERAL other programs at the cws. why are you ok with that?
