I think it was hit or miss. I agree with everyone on the treatment before the game. I walked around a lot and everyone was nice and wished us good luck. During the game, I have to admit, an LSU fan was "That Guy". Between throwing up on the bama fans in front of him, and him bothering the elderly couple on his left, I was ashamed he wore purple and gold. After the game, there was plently of RTR, and other Bama crap, but no worse than what I expected beforehand.

Been to Alabama probably 10 or 15 times. Was really surprised by the fan behavior yesterday. That was a new experience for me with that fan base.

Don't know you know? It's all part of the process.

THIS and the cheerleaders were leading the chants, no class at all. This was my 5th trip to Tuscaloosa and the most obnoxious.

In my 49 years, I have NEVER witnessed or experienced treatment like my family and I did last night after the game. We left the game with about 3 minutes to go, to begin the long trek to our car and hopefully avoid some of the traffic. Redneck Bama fans (and students) were lined on the sidewalks, waiting for folks to come by. They were over-the-top, and getting right in LSU fans' faces - women and children alike. Some of the Tiger fans I heard couldn't believe that girls, especially, were behaving that way. I've never seen fans "asking for it" like these were - it was all we could do to keep walking ahead, look straight ahead, and not pummel some of them. They even got on a little boy when he wouldn't high-five them as they were yelling in his face.
I never felt like this before, but from here on out, I will pull for ANYONE who is playing the tide. I'd always thought that ole miss fans were the worst, but these are right up there...

the part of the bama fans that disappointed me the most was the disrespect for the injured players, and it was not isolated to the student section, it was stadium wide, of course there were bama fan who showed class, but they were outnumbered by the low class rednecks, I felt sad since I grew up in the shadow of bryant denny, hopefully the people who count and support the UNIVERSITY OF ALABAMA will ask the fan base to learn to win with class, just as most LSU fans win or lose we show our pride by acting with class

THAT behavior was NOT limited to BDS.

They might be one of the most fair weather fan bases that I have ever had the displeasure of interacting with. When comes to how I was treated, it was horrible. Ten or twelve people told me how good of game it was and to have a safe trip home and everyone else I walked by said f you, you suck, etc. There were 4 nice Bama fans sitting around us and the rest were complete tools. One guy told me before the game i would leave by the end of the third quarter. Didn't hear another word from him until after Tiffin's field goal. I hate to judge a whole fan base by only the people who i encountered but, I encountered A LOT of Bama fans through the day and many of them just continued this trend and a majority of them were NOT students.

Even though I didnt go I talked to a couple Bama fans online hours before the game saying it was going to be a great game and hope there are no injuries. I heard this about six times so im wondering why everybody was saying it, then we just bstarted dropping like flys out there and Bama fans were screaming enjoyment. They knew that unless we lost some players, they were doomed from the first TD we scored

Tuscaloosa is a good gameday experience. But the tailgate kinda lacks.

Its always my favorite road trip in the SEC. 95% of the fans are way cool and its fun to stand around and talk football with them before and after the game. I can handle the other 5%'ers. The cheering when a few of our players got hurt reminded me of Gainsville, and I've not seen that before in T-town. And it wasn't just a small group. Kind of surprised me. Also the 45'ish old fan in North endzone who saw the need to double flip the bird to fans after they passed him (i.e., to their backs); when I stopped and asked him if he had the balls to do it to my face, he didn't and as I walked away, he said to hurry home because there was a hurricane coming to LA to 'finish it off' was a treat in "hillbilly hospitality". I wish him an unexpected, early demise.

we walked around campus before the game. tailgating was pretty good. not as good as georgia or ole miss but better than florida.

campus is ok. again, i wouldn't say it's as nice as georgia or ole miss, but on par with auburn and florida. better than ms state. definitely not as good as lsu.

we met up with friends and a group we didn't know. they were all more than hospitable and invited us to eat and drink. people walking around before the game were nice. one older gentleman told us he was glad to have us there.

the people who sat around us at the game were nice. they made sure to have conversation with us and we all said good game afterwards. aside from tiger stadium, that was the loudest game environment i've heard. and that includes the florida beatdown last year in gainesville

after the game wasn't nearly as bad as ky '07. i didn't see or hear anything too bad.

game experience wasn't as fun as georgia, tenn or ole miss, but it was better than ms state, florida, auburn, ky

as I've said before ,90% of fanbases are fine,10% are bad.

I don't need a welcome wagon,so indifference is fine with me. The vast majority were fine. We tailgated on the quad with some and behind the library with some.

But like anywhere you have the jerks. Drunk 'Bama kid four seats down getting up 50 times cursing, etc was bad. The inordinate amount of Alabama fans with stickers saying "LSU ain't shite" was suprising. And of course ,the losers harrassing us outside the stadium on Univ Blvd heading back to the car was pretty low class.

but,by and large the trip was fine. Great set-up on the Quad.

I have to think that some of these stories are complete BS. Some just sour grapes. If you judge a whole fan base by a couple of frat dudes then you are ignorant. I have never judged the LSU fan base by the fans that threw food at me and my girlfriend last time I was in Baton Rouge. I was at the game and tailgated all day and all the LSU fans I talked with said they had never been treated as well at an away game and everybody was very friendly. I call BS on some of these stories...
yeah we'll call BS on the stories that we hear about the lsu experience too

Tuscaloosa: nice bar scene, average to below average dining, campus is the best thing about the place

Treatment: fair. There are assholes in every group.

Campus: very nice buildings

Ladies: A+

Stadium: ok. Did not seem loud. It got loud in the forth quarter on a third and long for LSU but that was about it. I was expecting a little more based on what Bama fans were telling me.
Your video boards are below average.

Overall it was a good trip. If your fanbase could lose their since of entitlement you would be a lot easier to deal with.

Most fans were cordial, gave the usual "good game" etc. Even those sitting around us in the stadium were nice, good natured. Cheering when players are down is inexcusable no matter the situation.

We were in an RV lot on Paul Bryant only about 4-5 blocks from BD. Maybe we were isolated a bit from some of the nastiness. We got several RTR's and LSwho's and LSU Sucks to which we promptly responded "Go Utes". It usually went silent after that.

Overall, I always enjoy my trip to Tuscaloosa. This one was no different for the most part. But, the hatefulness is definitely on the rise.

I thought overall the treatment was pretty good. We RV'd in some Bama students' yard starting Thursday and they were awesome to hang out with.

There were alot of FU's and RTR's as people drove or walked by but that kind of stuff doesn't bother me at all. We had a ton of people shaking our hands after the game saying, "great game." The only thing I had a problem with was the cheering / booing of injuries but other than that, the atmosphere was spirited and fun.

Classy team. Some classy individuals. Classless home crowd. Cheering and chanting in unison when an opposing player, especially a stud, sustains an injury is, well I must admit, Albamian.

Well well, looks like some can dish it out but cant take it.

Never ever think LSU is the bastion of classy fans.

Check out your school newspaper video.

What a joke this is. Payback time. Please. It will be no different than any other year in BTR. Total classles, idiots. Now you see how it feels.
