Florida's lack of state income tax

I know the entire topic has been beat to death, but does this come into play. It seems like FSU would have a built in 6-7% advantage. Doesn't seem like much but we we are talking over $400k/yr (>$2m total) on the 5yr/$30m rumored deal that they would be able to incentivize.

Property tax is a lot less. Do you think Florida just lets that revenue fly out the door? We are splitting hairs here.

Yes. But you pay income tax in the state you physically work or are based in. Not the state you live in.

I doubt that property taxes would even approach close to 20% of the $400k difference

Property taxes and fuel taxes are higher in Florida vs. Louisiana. One way or another the state gets their money.

The state makes up most of that by gouging tourists with hotel/motel taxes. Yes property taxes are really high but the hotel taxes are exorbitant.
