Hey guys! I'm making my first trip to Baton Rouge this weekend for the Ole Miss game. Oddly enough, I'm Georgia Tech fan but I love college football and Tiger stadium is at the top of my bucket list of stadiums around the country that I want to go see a game at. So the wife got me tickets to the game as a birthday gift.

Any suggestions for someone making their first trip? Places to eat? Things to do? Pre-game activities? Tailgating? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

This link should get you to some useful info from a previous thread. If not, ask again a little later in the week. Folks on here are typically quick to help.

Hope you have a great time in Death Valley!

. Perfect game to be making your first visit. I'm jealous. Wish I could be there. If the tigers come to pkay it should be a pretty awesome experience. Make sure you wear your Ga Tech gear and you'll be welcomed with open arms by many tiger tail gates. They live to entertain fans from other teams .

Later this week, Friday I believe, Dandy Don will post a schedule for important events on campus. Look for it at his website, DandyDon.com. Wear comfortable shoes and Ga Tech gear. You'll get free drinks and food at the thousands of tailgates you pass. Hit Mike's Cage and get to a spot early for the band marching down the hill. Have a ball.

Eat at chimes near campus Friday night. Bar hop on 3rd st. downtown. Get to campus pretty early on Saturday and pack light so you can move around campus and tailgate hop. Don't be afraid to poke ur nose in different tailgates. Like someone already said, wear your ga tech gear and people will be quick to feed and booze y'all up. Visit mike the tigers cage and watch our band walk down the hill pregame. Hope y'all have a great time.

Agreed. Yet someone always suggests this. Do not stay in Nola.

DO:
wear your Georgia Tech gear
Get to campus by no later than 10am and walk around (parade grounds, dalrymple)

It's homecoming so it might be worth it to walk down sorority row as well. College Gameday will be here too. Campus will be packed.

I'll third this. If you've never been to NOLA before, sure stay an extra day before or after to experience it, but I wouldn't make that your night-before-the-game and drive-to-afterwards staying location.

ETA: I'll give some input:

Eats (in order):
1.) Chimes

2.) Walk-Ons

3.) Pluckers (even though it's technically a chain, still feels local)

Things to do on campus:
1.) Get there EARLY to soak it all in, because you've got a lot to do!

2.) Visit Mike's habitat in between the PMAC and Tiger Stadium's North side.

3.) Wear your GT gear and tailgate-hop. Tell the chef "something smells good" and get fed and receive free beer! We love visitors.

4.) Watch the team/band come down Victory Hill

Bars for afterwards:
1.) The Bulldog (for craft beers, chilling)

2.) Bogies (for dancing, younger crowd)

That's all I've got for now. I'm sure you'll get other input from other LSU fans.

Hope you have a great time!
