Thanks. Any suggestions on parking? Safe to leave car and walk for opposing fans. Looking for great gameday experience. Yes all schools have bad fans who like to tear up opposing fans items.
I would maybe try to park on campus if you can get there early enough and find a free lot. The LSU Student Recreation Center behind the Union near Herget Hall is not a bad place.
I'm sure LSU will have a designated place, buidling, area where Rebel fans/alumni can go - maybe ask the Ole Miss Athletic Dept?

go to walk-on's if you want a sampling of BR cuisine (read: mediocre interpretations of new orleans food)

Juban's, Acme Oyster House, Ninfa's, Superior Grille,
Ruffino's, DeAngleo's, Mike Anderson's, French House.

Walkons – This may be the best place to hit up on a gameday weekend. In the shadows of Tiger Stadium on Burbank it was started by two walkon basketball players. They have crazy tent parties on football weekends and have some good food. Stuffed burger and cheese fries are favorites of mine.
Mike Andersons – Mike Anderson is also a former LSU athlete who has had the staple LSU area seafood restaurant for over 30 years. They are located at 1031 West Lee Drive and have a bar that can get fun and rowdy the night before a game.
ONCE AGAIN: AVOID THESE TWO RESTAURANTS!

If you are going for great cuisine, I agree, neither of these two places are wonderful, but if you want to go somewhere fun and LSUish, Walkons is a pretty good experience.
I'm not a big fan of Mike Anderson's, but I thought it belonged on that list. Not everyone is a foodie.

Just remember it's homecoming and ESPN Gameday is going on. If you don't have a parking pass you can usually find a spot behind the sorority houses or you can park on the road pretty easy at Nicholson & W. Chimes St. Get to campus NLT 8:00am

Go from Siegen to Highland and take Highland into campus. More scenic than taking I-10.

This, and it's not too far from your hotel. Sammy's in Prairieville (a drive, but not too far from your hotel) is solid for a nice Friday evening meal. City Cafe' on George O'Neal is good, too. However, Sammy's has cute bartenders.

A lot of great ideas on here. You cant go wrong with Walk-ons or Chimes. The best advice for Saturday is GET THERE EARLY. ESPECIALLY if you have to park. Be there before 10am and enjoy the full day. How old are you? That def plays a factor in what to do after. Downtown BR is great for a little older crowd, but if you just wanna get nasty with college people, go to Bogies or Tigerland. We love visitors (except from Bama) so don't be scared to just walk up to a tailgate and tell them where you're from. You will be greeted with open arms. HAVE A GREAT TIME!

Don't know how this one will be, but we GOT TO CAMPUS AND PARKED at 8:00 a.m. for the 2012 Bama game and there were ALREADY a lot of cars there.
This one may be similar, if not worse because of 8000 more seats and more tailgaters...

If you get there after 12 you might be in trouble as far as parking goes

TTT
Just curious of the OP's experience this weekend ... groceries consumed , hospitality during tailgating, and opinion of Tiger Stadium
You and the Mrs. are welcome back to BR anytime
