Its a spoiled fanbase. I know, i defended the team all season. But we have seen this story before. Got to win the next two weekends, or this will be forgotten.

Just saying its been since 2009 and havent even sniffed the finals since.
People keep talking about parity and the stadium. USCe went back to back and finals 3 years in a row 2 of which were at TD ameritrade. Vandy and Virginia went to the finals back to back years. All of which has been done since the last time LSU won.
If he really wants to be one of the "greats" then he has to do it when the pressure is on.

Exactly. Not sure why almost reaching your goal is grounds for termination.
There is a gray area. We have accomplished ALL of our goals this far. SEC regular season champs. SEC tournament champs. National Seed on the way. Let's celebrate that!

The team is probably still in Hoover & LSU "fans" are already criticizing CPM for the way he used Newman/Hess. Two HC's & teams have won more NC than CPM in the last decade. They have won 2. He's won 1. Point being, it's a hard trophy to win in today's game. Mentioning USCe as an example? Look at where they are now. LSU, in the meantime, has hosted regionals & Super Regionals for 7 straight yrs now. Intelligent college baseball analysts & coaches know just what this means. LSU fans only see it as a failure. Good Lord.

Up until the last three weeks, he has underachieved during the season. Currently, he has this team playing at the level of expectation and it has been fun to watch. A deep run into Omaha would be awesome.

What's lost in your post is exactly how you started it. Which is the main issue Mainieri's had for almost a decade. You see, LSU Baseball should be prepared for June. Not May.
I'm excited we won. A Division Crown, a Co-Championship in the regular season overall, and an impressive, blitzkrieg of a run through Hoover for an SEC Tournament Championship. Beating some quality, NCAA-Tournament-caliber teams and some stud arms along the path. No two ways about it: LSU is firing on all cylinders.
But LSU Baseball will always be judged by what it does AFTER May. Not BEFORE June.
