So we would hold out on accepting a bowl offer until after the Dec. 3rd game? Aren't bowl bids given out in November?

49 upvotes for a Dec 3 game = 49 idiots. There's every reason to play this game in October so we can improve and build confidence going into the November gauntlet. Remember, the Mizzou game was like the first game of the season for us. Frick an open date before Bama. Hasn't helped last 4 years. Very important to get two quality SEC wins prior to Bama.

The only drawback is the potential that these two teams win their division thus creating a rematch the very next week, correct?

In that case make it double jeopardy.

Some of the shite bowls are.

Most bowl bids are not finalized until the playoffs are determined.

Florida should not even be in on the discussion, just tell them you either do what we decide or forfeit. I'm all for a forfeit today with no further discussion!

You see what they are saying now. Safety is more important than a game.

This is what safety looks like.

No worries here. Tennessee is not losing more than 2 games in the East and Florida will lose at least 2 if they play LSU.

Alexander’s preference is for LSU and Florida to play on Dec. 3 in the Georgia Dome and delay the SEC Championship Game by one week in the same arena in Atlanta

Makes sense.

Why play the game in Atlanta, and not in Gainesville?

We are not willing to give up the money of a home game ($3-5 million) plus have to pay USA $1.5 million.

I have no idea how this will end up, and trust me I would love for this to happen. HOWEVER, there is no way in hell UF is going to get a forfeit over this...it is just NOT going to happen. They will claim "better safe than sorry" with a cat 4 hurricane heading their way...etc. If a UF forfeit is what people are waiting for then they will be waiting forever.

Our league will hold up the rest of the NCAA because of a killer storm.

So they wait.

Playing on Dec 3rd would have an effect on EVERY bowl eligible team in the NCAA causing the bowl matchups to be announced later

Except that it wouldn't have any affect on all but 2 bowls.

but Alabama’s Nick Saban would probably have a meltdown cataclysmic enough to shake the ground in Tuscaloosa if that move was accepted

Wrong bozo. saban would welcome the schedule. That would give him an extra week to prepare for his opponent in the SEC Championship game which is a very good shot of being Florida.
