Alexander’s preference is for LSU and Florida to play on Dec. 3 in the Georgia Dome and delay the SEC Championship Game by one week in the same arena in Atlanta. That would be the best scenario for LSU and Florida, but Alabama’s Nick Saban would probably have a meltdown cataclysmic enough to shake the ground in Tuscaloosa if that move was accepted. It will take ample power of persuasion and will for league Commissioner Greg Sankey to find a palatable answer to this dilemma.

I'd be fine with that. No need to put us out because UF was afraid to play the game when scheduled.

The SEC should force UF to come to Baton Rouge on nov 19. That's the only options that has minimal impact on other schools. UF can take a forfeit if they choose to.

After botching the Miles situation, I think it's pretty damn important that he saves face on this.

I don't see why this can't be done if necessary.

Not sure about the reasoning behind saying Saban would meltdown about the move. Its an extra week of rest if his team is playing in the SECCG, with the possibility that he'll be playing UF team without rest.

I am for this.

But the argument WOULD be from outside the SEC is that the SEC would be holding the rest of the NCAA hostage on the playoff selection due to incompetent leadership. Could look bad for the league as a whole. Which would be good IMO, that way Sankey would hopefully learn a lesson next time this happens.

The only drawback is the potential that these two teams win their division thus creating a rematch the very next week, correct?

Don't like. Need to play the game when it assuredly means something. If they would move the fricking cocktail game, it would allow us to beat the crap out of them and make an impression with the voters during the middle of the season and also gain momentum and confidence with the other important games coming up. Plus, it allows us to avoid the three road game gauntlet if it were played on the 19th. Otherwise, why bother?

Read the article. Says Saban would have a fit if this were to happen. Not going to HAPPEN!!

Considering the bowl selection is a day or 2 after the SEC Championship game. It would entail persuading the committee to push back their date for bowl and playoff selection

I think Joe Aleva should tell the SEC that LSU is playing in Baton Rouge on November 19th.

If we win out, this would only make us play 3 games rather than 4 away from home in a row.

Our schedule is so awesome!!

Since all he cares about is money and looks, then that's all the incentive he needs.

Are you insinuating that we would agree to cancel our home game with USA if we could replace it with Florida? I'd be down.
