I get so sick of hearing about the wildcat. We run that like never.

if JJ were in there I think you'd see some form of it. a handoff/keep/pass option....

so why does he need to be in there at all. if he isn't in there to pass, we have better options to run the ball.

Here is a post I made in another thread about this subject. This is why 3-4 snaps a game in the red zone for JJ is a good thing

Did you watch the Mississippi State game? First let me say this Lee played well and did what he was asked. However passing lanes get crowded in the redzone its just the nature of the game thats why zones give up yards between the 20s but can still give up few points. Theres less field and defenders are closer. Roll outs allow the qb in the redzone resets the passing lanes and also give the run pass threat. A defender has to respect a qb and possibly come off his man to prevent a touch down. JL is not a running threat lets be honest. Hes also not Peyton Manning either so it cant hurt to let JJ have a couple plays in the redzone because he brings another dimension. Also it will allow for less division on the team because JJ will be getting meaningful snaps and there will be less cause for a JJ faction and JL faction. SO why wouldnt you be for it?

How so? Jefferson isn't Cam Newton or Percy Harvin. There's virtually no threat of a big play from him running.

No shite. Some people are acting like he is Micheal Vick.

Give it a rest, the offense is scoring plenty, LEAVE IT ALONE

Why do you have to have a so called running QB to keep a defense on it's heels? You can do it with any decent running game and a good QB who knows how to utilize play action fakes which Lee is very good at.

Burning up the keyboard trying to defend your guy against the groundswell against him? With any luck, either you give up and go away, or your WallyWorld computer melts down.

At least this is one year faster we will be rid of your horrible posts.

Who says we do?

JL led offense in 2011 >>> than JJ led offense in 2009 & 2010 with similar personnel.

JJ needs to split out as a WR/TE hybrid and use his size to catch passes in the redzone over smaller DBs.

The potential negatives?

(1) Disrupts the flow of the offense;

(2) Telegraphs the type of play we will run;

(3) Displaces other more creative and effective plays;

(4) Confusion and penalties resulting from abrupt changes in personnel and formation;

(5) Potential turnovers on those occasions when Jefferson attempts to throw.
And (6) Disruptive to the rest of the team to have last year's starter in, when this year's starter has been doing incredible work and they have responded incredibly well to his leadership.

JJ runs around the left end, gets hit, balls on the ground, opponents ball!

..except that you said when he passes guys will be wide open.

Yeah, they will.

Just like Perrilloux against Virginia Tech, the fake option-pass play will always be open.

But that's the type of play that you run once a season.

Jefferson would hardly ever throw a pass, which is why I was asking for his yards/carry when you take sacks out of the equation.

Perrilloux was way more talented as a runner and thrower than JJ. There is no comparison.

You've seen JJ play this year? How did you manage that?

Since he adds nothing on the pass portion, then wouldn't we be much better off running this with a much better runner? Do you want Spencer Ware or JJ carrying the ball? In fact, from our limited data, Ware can hit a receiver in stride better, so he might be a better passing threat.

This is probably the only play we will see Jefferson do besides run the option.

For the millionth time, if we do well in the red zone, he shouldn't play.

If we continuously struggle in the red zone (or inside the 30), which we did against Mississippi State, then it couldn't hurt to give him 3 or 4 snaps a game.

It's 3 or 4 snaps people.

RP as a RSFR was better than JJ as a 2nd year starter.

Yeah, because he's proved his effectiveness in the red zone.
