Thanks, I understand your point. Semantics. Maybe I should think he is "good" instead of "great" - I'll think about it. I am inclined to lean to "great" though when talking about a top three guy in the toughest conference in the land.

Tiger fans that left the game early Saturday hopefully aren’t among those calling for Miles’ head. You lose that privilege when you aren’t willing to stay to the end of a close game against a ranked team.

Yeah, I guess these four kids still have the right to complain. Except for one thing.

Get off your high horse Warner. It was an 8:00 start, and with an hour of game traffic and an hour commute, not everyone could get home at 1:30, especially those with committments Sunday morning or tickets to the Saints-Falcons game.
Go F yourself.

(and, I DID stay until the end)

Do wut?

I find it funny everyone has this assumption that PosiTigers are older, wiser, more mature and negitigers are childish, bandwagon fans

There are plenty on each side that break those assumptions

well said.

fun and tension-filled, at the same time.

That bit about self actualization not going hand in hand with garbage stands to be underappreciated.

But of course we are. And of course, I'm generalizing and there are many exceptions.

But since you were born in 1923 I figured you'd be in complete agreement with me.

I defer to your old, mature wisdom.

My wisdom is do not let it bother you, you can not change what in the hell people do. If they paid money and want to boo at a game, you can't make them quit. So why let it upset you so?
Just go and enjoy the game and if it bothers you, then cheer louder than they can boo, drown them out.

Well, now I'm in Oregon so it's once every few years that I make it to a home game in Tiger Stadium. Last year I took my wife to the Arkansas game and we listened to the post game show and she had never heard such hatred for a head coach. I, OTOH, have heard far more venom directed at LSU coaches and the AD but it was deserved back then in 1994. Then, the booing was still inexcusable but at least understandable given the years of suffering. The suffering people are alleging now is laughable in comparison.

But even here in Oregon, I congregate with fellow LSU fans at our local watering hole and I have to listen to all the bitching and whining and constant comparisons to Saban and what Saban would have done if he were still coach. It gets old and tired and pathetic. I'm not going to sit quietly. I'm going to lash back. It was one thing to bitch a blue streak in 1994 when we seriously thought the program was terminally fricked with Joe Dean at the helm and we'd never have another winning season. When Vanderbilt's coach looked like an upgrade (he was at the time). Now our fans act like the world is going to end and LSU football is sentenced to a lifetime of mediocrity just because we have a 4-0 team that has issues throwing the ball.

So I were in the stadium, I'd boo back. I'd yell back at the assholes. Some of my friends in my old section of the North end zone are doing just that. They're classy alums who bleed purple and gold and they put the boobirds in their place and let them know what pieces of shite they are. Free speech is free but it is not without consequences. You want to boo, fine... but we have a right to yell right back at you. Not because we love Miles. But because we love LSU and hate seeing assholes make our school look bad on national TV.

Yeah cause every Saturday night I see people yelling at those booing
Not saying I sit in their section (304 here) however as many people as I see on this board talking about how they would physically or verbally assault someone who boos and yet never fights/tossings/etc except in student section.
It is a lot of talk via a message board as people like to talk a great game under the veil of obscurity but no one likes to do it towards another.

LSU fans have always booed various things involving players, coaches, the play on the field, during good years and bad. This is not something new, I am not sure why everyone wants to act like it is.

The difference between now and years ago is that the stadium expanded. So instead of maybe a couple thousand who wanted to boo it has become more.

The stadium is a mere 12,000 seats bigger. And back in 1994 LSU might as well have had a stadium that sat 50,000 as easily 30,000 of the seats were empty... at kickoff. I remember some games where people had to give tickets away because they couldn't sell extras. Some games we had maybe 25,000 left in the 4th quarter (like the serious 56-3 arse whipping by Florida in 1993). And I was one of the insane 25k left in the stadium for most of those games.

The official attendance records for 1993 indicate we had 60,272 per home game... must have been paid attendance but even so that's 20k below capacity averaged for all home games. You have to go back to 1960 to find a lower per game attendance figure.

On a positive note, that's 20k boo birds who didn't come to the stadium. We didn't have the Internet to bitch back then so we burned up the talk radio lines voicing our displeasure with Joe Dean for hiring such an ignorant buffoon.

not to mention that leslie constantly says he will get Lee into the game....and never does! every radio show...same shite...

and please don't refer to the one series you let Lee hand the ball off...get real

i can't do anything about leslie sticking with Jefferson. It's his decision..not mine. But don't constantly tell us Lee will get playing time when you have no intention of doing so. just say that JJ is your man and will stay in the game.

as for the others saying that Jefferson is our only option...that's bs! Lee's pick 6 bonanza was 2 years ago...and do you honestly want me to believe that Lee is playing worse in practice than Jefferson does against our first 4 opponents? i'm not saying Lee should start but giving him 3-4 series in a game can't be any worse than the shite we see every Saturday..Jefferson's not done in my opinion but he looks uncomfortable just playing the game. of course he's going to play like crap. let him sit some during the game...see what happens

I think everyone here realizes what kind of defense and special teams we have...and they are something to behold...

the offense, however is the cause of frustration, if i can sit in the stands or watch on tv and predict what is going to happpen, surely a defensive coordinator who knows a lot more about football than i do can too....

the players aren't the target of the boos....it's the coaching staff and the choices they are making on offense....

agree with the low score. The LSU/Bama game will be very close again this year just like it has been the last three years. I just am not sure that I agree that we win.

I think that the LSU defense is so good that a player like Peterson could actually be the difference in this game and y'all have him. I think this game will be close like you say but I think Peterson may do something on special teams that may turn the tide in LSU's favor.

I think people are going to have a very hard time scoring on that defense and they get better every week.

I agree that Peterson could be the difference in the game. But, I don't see many people punting to him until the offense actually starts moving the ball. I mean punting it out of bounds or extremely high and having a 10 yard or so shorter punt seems like the neutralizer for LSU's special teams right now. With that said, I hope opposing team remain confident that their special teams can contain Peterson.
