When it came to crunch time Wade ran way too many 1-4 sets. In his 5 years he never taught his team weak side or help defense.

Rant myth. No proof of this.

And please name one of those kids that will ever make an NBA roster or at the very minimum a practice squad. We still lack in major talent thanks to our previous regime one the sanctions as a direct result.

There is plenty of documentation that LSU’s administrators gave him every chance to come forward.

And for the absolute cheating and repressions he caused he still never made it past the sweet 16. If you’re gonna cheat at least show better results than he did.

The only reason we ever showed any defensive capability in Wade’s 5 year tenure was a direct result of Tari Eason. He understands defensive fundamentals. Was a rim protector, rebounded, and understands help side defense. Anyone that understands the fundamentals of basketball knows that Wade was just average at best.

if you say so but the goal of the game is not necessarily to play fundamental defense instead of recruiting amazing athletes that you identify. the goal is to win games.

wade won games. that's why they play the games. even if every player is amazing or shite or he cant coach at all or he is the best ever, the point is to win. wade was a winner. seems silly to want something else from a coach other than that.

multiple times he was taken out of commission from making the sweet 16 by outside forces. twice he was suspended and once the season was canceled. its not really fair to describe his lack of tournament success without the context that most of the time he got his team there he was not allowed to play.

He was taken out of commission by his own choice. LSU gave him the chance to speak up and defend himself and he refused. Our administration said speak up or be suspended. He chose the latter. Lawyered up like a bitch. Thus he quit on his own terms and his players. LSU gave him the opportunity. He should have been fired right then and there.

He didn’t produce deep runs when he was there. If you’re gonna cheat and totally screw LSU like he did, without reverence to his players or the university that way and by far overpaid the pos, at least take us passed the sweet 16. He should be put in jail for raping LSU

Good thread OP. I see you drew out all the posters who are going to ride or die with Wade and crap on the current program / coach at the next opportunity.

I would say that's the easy and convenient take, but I for once am going to give CMM a bit more credit than that.

This team, virtually out of the blue, started rebounding and playing with an edge of toughness not seen in his tenure until very recently. And that even more than Cook IMHO has led to the recent success.

Now how he suddenly got this out of them and why he could not get that out of them before I have no idea, but I'm glad it happened and hope it continues.

Eh

WW had his style of coaching. Clear out lanes and let XXX drive to the basket. I prefer to see ball movement, picks, and rebounds, rebounds, rebounds.

Liked WW regardless and he gave us something to be interested in after several bad seasons. He got busted just a year too early. He may also have been a sacrificial lamb to save the FB program and their investigations.

But we can give MM some time and see what he can do. If we had pulled in a big name coach ($$$$$) to replace WW and had these same results, I would be right there with you complaining about it.

He refused to speak to the administration and was told if he doesn’t he’ll be suspended. He lawyered up thus quitting on his team. Michigan State would have annihilated us with or without him on the sidelines because we lacked simple team fundamentals

Yep.

Then fired his lawyer a few weeks after, realizing how stupid & selfish he was.

We’re just scratching the surface with mc. He was put in almost the worst situation possible. He was forced to completely gut the team because wade refused to speak. So we had no idea who he did or didn’t pay.

Yep. And then hired multiple lawyers. And at the advice of said lawyers spoke and lied.
