YPA is highly misleading in this particular situation--probably to the point of scouting malpractice. When you look at YPA with one player in coverage, without even getting into the fact that we don't know what his assignment was, all it shows you is the times that Mo was sufficiently out of position to garner a throw his way. Obviously, if he is in a position that would draw a throw, the statistical result will be negative more often than not.

YPA is a good stat when you are evaluating whether the 400 yards someone threw for was a result of an efficient game or a nonstop barrage of passes down field. YPA on one player without regard to the total amount of attempts is ridiculous.

I didn't say it was perfect, just that it was more relevant than the number of games, which it clearly is. YPA is basically yards per target in this instance, and is used by all of the analytical sites for rating corners. There's no other way to numerically judge their performance.
