ESPN's Joyner says Claiborne is overrated

It's an Insider article, but for those of you with Insider, here it is.

So let me get this straight...Clairborne is overrated because in seven games against teams with the best passing offenses he had a combination of 12 receptions or penalties against him for 188 yards on 25 attemps?!
That equates to less than 4 throws his way per game; less than 2 recetions/penatlies against him per game; and 27 yards against him per game combining both receiving yards and defensive penalties.
Is this guy kidding? It's like ESPN just asked him to play devil's advocate, because that's an incredible reach to call the man overrated.

Exactly. What those stats fail to include is the passes that were NOT thrown his way because he had them guarded well.

NFL scouts disagree. Mo may go 3rd in the draft. He is fast, has fluid hips changing direction and he is a ball hawk. He is as good as advertised.

I would be interested to see his stats from this past year against Peterson's from 2010. I know they aren't apples to apples, but they played a very similar schedule of teams and QBs.

This has got to be the worse logic i have ever read. 188 yards in 7 games!!!!!! Thats a bad day for an average reciever in one game. Besides most of those yards came against west virginia and i remember that one play were he came up and miss that tackle for the run and score TD. Tell that espn idiot to show me one pass thrown over his head.

I recently re watched the Oregon game and the Arkansas game, and I remember him falling down a couple of times and the receiver caught the ball. One I know of for sure was the only offensive touchdown play Arkansas had. Does that count against him as a great corner or would they think like me and consider it a fluke play??

Fluke!!!
One td allowed against oregon, arkansas, bama twice, georgia and west virginia. all top 10 offenses in the country. I don't even under this. I wish this tread was never started

if anything, it just shows you that no corner is infallible. heck, during PP's last year, he also gave up similar numbers, i'd say. of course i don't have stats to back it up or anything.
