They broadcast major bowl games during the day on Monday, Jan 2nd, while most of the country had to go back to work. Do you really think they give a shite about the College World Series?

Give it time and I'm sure an LSU fan could find something wrong with heaven.

I agree in general. They do televise games during the year on the Network that CBS wouldn't dream of. It's a catch 22.

This doesn't bother me. The bats are killing me. College baseball will have a much harder time gaining viewers IMO

If there are any Bama fans there, I don't want to go.

Hell no... Although this year I'd like our chances in 1 game vs. Florida as opposed to 3.

Actually the CWS would be nothing without ESPN.

The 2 of 3 series is good in terms of competitiveness, and I am fine with it, but it is not fan friendly. They have spaced the games out so much that you have to take off a lot of work and spend a lot of money to see even a couple of games featuring your team. I love teh CWS - even went one year when LSU was not in it - but they are making it much less likely for me to go.

Thus the reason why the seats are half empty and the ratings suck (even for some of the BCS bowls ie Sugar)

If we win it, it's not going to matter to me what night it is.

what's wrong with a 3 games series for the title?

Heaven no longer exists IMO. When they took the CWS out of Rosenblatt, they made it just like any other new ballpark. There was nothing better than sitting in Rosenblatt on a nice cool June evening watching a baseball game.

I know the neighborhood had become a problem etc etc, but it became more about money for ESPN and Suite sales etc.

Precisely the rationale. They are recouping the investment they've made during the regular season by promoting college baseball. I can't hold that against them.

the CWS WAS nothing before ESPN started showing the games way back in the early 80s .. before that, you might get a five second mention of who USC beat to win yet another national championship on the CBS evening news ..
