The deal he said is cbs would give espn preseason 1st pick of any one weekend game for next year in return for a primetime kickoff.

I'm not following? So the game would be primetime ESPN?

But won't do whatever it takes to keep a LSU night game at night?

This will probably be the biggest college football game of the year and that's including all the bowl games. It makes sense that they would be doing this.

No. It would be a prime time kickoff on CBS.

ESPN would get 1st pick on one weekend next year over CBS. And it could be any game they want. So ESPN could pick LSU/Alabama or LSU/Auburn or Arkansas/Alabama next year if they wanted to.

Primetime on CBS. As compensation for going up against ESPN in primetime CBS will compensate ESPN with the #1 preseason pick next year.

I'd imagine ESPN would bargain for 2 games since this game will be HUGE for tv ratings.

in this case, this would really piss me off....travel plans may preclude me watching this game if they do this. I understand why most would want this though

OK, let's use some deductive reasoning here.....

Tuesday I get a letter from Joe Aleva saying that the price for greatness is playing nontraditional day games that CANNOT be moved per a sacred contract with CBS.
That means that LSU is great 'cause all our fricking SEC games are day games in TS this year.

Now, Bama may end up with a day game moved to a Primetime kickoff 'cause CBS and/or Saban wants to do it that way.
That means that Bama must not be as great as we are cauae they get to play an SEC home game at night.

So.......two things must be true;
1)We will beat Bama 'cause all our games in TS are day games and that means LSU>>>>>Bama.
and
2)Joe Aleva has NO CLUE how to negotiate and/or even ask to have at least one of our games moved to a night game. It obviously CAN be done,

As my Father always said "He who don't ask, don't get. Got that Joe??????
