LSUfan4444, "LSU can lose this game, still win 10 regular season games (which would be above the vegas total) and be just fine."

Let's see we're 7-2 with 3 remaining games. If we lose against AL, we can still win 10 in regular season? I realize that you probably stare into the sunshine, but please tell us that you graduated from an Alabama educational system." OOps, just saw your correction, sorry

Cwills684, "So LSU has to beat Bama and the Refs to have a good recruiting class. Who else in the country has to be held to such a high standard"

Probably no one, but who else in the SEC region has had Saban, as a LSU coach, recruit in their state and build a network with the high school coaches. He is taking top LA talent from LSU that previously would have come to our program. If he continues dominance over the series, it will get worse. This is not necessarily a "high standard" just recruiting reality. Accept the fact that the more success AL has, the less LSU will achieve. When AL hired Saban, LSU was the most dominant team in the SEC. They hired Saban to change that situation. In order to build AL's program, he also had to undermine LSU's. It has been a deliberate process by Saban, My only hope is that Texas wins the bidding war which has now been launched by his agent. AL will either have to dig much deeper into its pockets or see their saviour defect and leave (along with his statute, I would imagine, unless they'll keep a statute erected to a guy coaching another team ) to rebuild UT's program. Most telling was the AL Chancellor's statement that Saban was the best investment AL has ever made. Says it all.

Completely disagree, and if he said that, he has no clue as what goes on in recruiting.

Believe it or not, kids that have to make that decision are not sitting around saying "I'll go to the team that wins". I'm not a Phil Steele by any means, but I definitely understand that the recruiting process is just that - a process. Those decisions get made over a lengthy period of time, and are based on relationships, comfort, and how much money Bama pays (couldn't resist).

If it was all about wins/losses, the team that wins the national championship would always have the number 1 recruiting class, teams like Ole Miss would never pull recruiting coup's, and Mississippi State would never get a recruit that LSU offered (I know they don't get many, but they did get a running back #3 one year when we offered).

Dumb comment is dumb.

I agree this is a must win. The Bama love fest is starting to infest Louisiana. I see so many Bama fans around the state and it's mind boggling, but winning brings a lot of bandwagon fans.

I wonder.........does a star running back or wide receiver not see the opportunity to play early at LSU. I also wonder....does a recruit not look at the opportunities they await them in 2014-2018 vs. what happens the rest of this season.

I'd imagine they want to win championships, not lose to Ole Miss' second string.

no...not at all. obviously they base this major life decision on the final score of one game that was played the year before they signed

How is this year a loss.

You're a dumbass

BCS bowl is clearly in LSUs path if they win out. Outside chance at SECcg.

How is that a loss? Gtfo

If LSU were undefeated this game wouldnt mean as much, but that loss to Ole Miss made it a must win. That was an embarrasment.
