If this tournement doesn't matter, why even pitch Gausman?

Only people who actually believe that are the "fans."

start him for a few innings but don't pitch him past 3 or 4 innings. We should still play to win tomorrow.

This isn't football.

Going 0-2 in the Tourney doesn't look good in locking up a Top 8 seed.

Throw gausman no more than 90 pitches no matter how well he is doing.....just to keep the confidence somewhat up, thats the reason for playing for W's in this tourney

I don't want to give the committee any opportunity to deny us a National Seed and going 0-2 at Hoover would be very bad in my opinion. Especially if Kentucky won the tournament or A&M won the Big 12, etc.

The fact that we have lost 4 series this season, if we go 2 and the BBQ in the tourney, I think we lose our national seed...IMHO, of course...

If we were co-SEC champs.

The SEC champion gets a national seed every season.

Yes losing 4 series is kind of bad, but if you notice our overall record is comparable to all of the other top teams.

Because we are going to need this kid later this weekend and next weekend, so why ruin him? The big picture here is Omaha...

Nola will start this weekend in a more "normal" outing. Gausman will start tomorrow if for no other reason to stay sharp. He pitched last Friday and won't pitch in the regional until Saturday. You don't want him to go two weeks without working.

I'm not sure this thought process goes with what we did today.

Scar went 0-2 last year, or in 10, can't remember which.
