Does anyone have their run time numbers to compare? Just curious.

Donte fast. Trindon faster. I couldn't catch either.

I think they both have elite speed, but donte is taller, bigger and plays defense
Although, I do expect him to get touches on the jet sweeps like dural did last year.

It will be interesting to see if he can get the edge as well as trindon did on punt returns or find creases on kickoff coverages too

As Frosh coming in or at their best? Its not really fare or remotely close if comparing their best. Holliday is elite world class speed. While Jackson is very fast.

If using 100m as a measuring stick Holliday is 10.00 and pretty consistent at it while Jackson is 10.3 at his best right now. Jackson should continue to get faster though.

Not sure if Donte ran the 60m though that would be a good comparison if they did.

Was Donte's 4.24 hand timed or laser? Also, didn't Trindon run close to 10-flat in the NCAA's?

Couldn't pull up Trindons high school numbers, but it looks like Jackson's 100m dash PR was 10.3 and Holliday ran a 10.01 his freshman season.

There is an enormous difference between someone running at 10 flat and someone running a 10.3. Its going to be about a 5 yard difference.

Trindon had outstanding balance to go with his speed, and he was also very quick. While he wasn't a physical threat, defenders rarely got a clean shot on him

Based on what he did at that Texas senior bowl game, I wish we would have used him a bit more in a traditional RB roll.

There's like 10 guys on the Rant now who can run a 10.3 and clean 315. Obviously it's pretty easy these days

It was a 9.997, but was rounded up to 10 flat.

Trindon is just as the guy posted above, world class speed. You dont get many kids that fast to put pads on for football because they can have a professional track career nearly. Donte is extemely fast but he isn't Trindon. However, he has the potential to get faster and maybe touch Trindons speed but unlikely. That being said, I'd much rather Donte if had to pick between the two. Dontes larger size ( larger than Trindon) and skills (better than Trindons) combined with elite speed ( nearly Trindons) will translate into a far better football player than Trindon.

Trindon won the NCAA National Title in the 100m.

Donte is very, very fast. Trindon might be the fastest college football player of all time.

40's aren't everything.

Trindon became 10.00 after a couple of years of working on his technique at LSU on the track and field team. Donte is right on par with where Trindon was at this age.

Well I ran against Chris Cummings quite a few times when he was running 10.2-10.3 and I was running around 10.5-10.6. So it was pretty similar split. The difference is pretty embarrassing actually. Out of HS I was running 10.6-10.9. Today I would probably pull a hamstring or on a good day run a 12.5.

I wouldn't disagree with that. I think I stated that it depends on what you are comparing. There is a huge difference in quality coaching in HS and at LSU. But for each sprinter you there is a limit as well that no amount of coaching and training will get you past. So its not appples to apples. Is Donte at his peak? Probably not. But will his peak be world class? No way to know.

Actually, yes. Trindon ran 4.27 at this same event as a freshman.

I want to say that Trindon was running in the 10.3-10.4 range in High School but cant remember. The state record has been 10.2 for a long time.
