How many can, in all seriousness, honestly say they thought we would be averaging nearly 40 ppg given our recent history and given that we:

a) lost our starting QB
b) "lost" our main playcaller
c) had to play 3 ranked opponents away from Tiger Stadium

I recognize that the defense and special teams have helped out the offense tremendously (that is actually understated). But I certainly did not expect us to be this good on offense.

I think its gonna be a good season.

You act like this was a bad thing.

To answer your question, I wasn't expecting 40 ppg, but I was definitely expecting a huge improvement from 2009 and 2010.

Awesome. Click the tab for "vs. Ranked" and it shows us in third place.

I was referring to Kragthorpe, not Crowton.

Not to mention, remember how big of a distraction losing 5 players for the first game was going to be. And how are team wasn't focused, etc.

My bad. I think Krags is still extremely involved in the offense. He may not physically send the plays down to the sideline, but I'd bet he and Stud are pretty busy during the defensive series.

But, but, but we don't ever throw for 300 yards.

not me. but its been a real team effort. the D getting stops and forcing turnovers. special teams getting us good field position- and even scoring a couple times- and the offense grinding it out and with the exception of moo st- getting into the endzone.

the defense has a tall order against a great WVU offense? no problem, the offense will pick up the slack. that was the most impressive thing about the WVU win to me. it was a team effort. and we almost hung a fiddy spot up there

The sad part is JJ would still be starting if not for Shadygate. Lee is a great kid and I'm so glad he stuck it out. FWIW, I really liked JJ too. Hope he gets to shine a few more times as a tiger...no as the starter though.

while that is awesome, it's only showing 2 ranked opponents.. the moocows were 25th on some poll when they hit us.

True. I love how Brad Wing pins teams deep - forcing them to go the length of the field takes a toll

We have improved in many offensive categories. Very nice to see. It's going to be a great year.

Coaching Replacement is to thank for this.
Malveto defense sux.
Enter the Chavis & Defense is adequate.

Unproductive Offense under GC.
Krag comes along & offense improves.

Hello #18 scoring offense in the country.

A few of the more astute posters on here said all along that this would have to happen before any offensive improvement would be seen.

BTW, Miles always has and always will be the main play caller.

Yea, the play calling definitely is just like it's been for the last 3 years

To be totally fair have we played a good or even a decent defense yet? Let's wait for this. We haven't been tested yet. I think we will be fine but let's at least wait for a good defense.

Light hearted reply

A) Fail. We all figured offense production would go up because of this.
B) Fail. He wasn't talking about Crowton. And we didn't really lose SK as has been widely reported.
C) True!!!
