The word is that Deculus wants to play LT. He's a huge guy, and I believe they recruited him as a future LT. It's definitely a position of need for LSU.

Did any of you watch S. Stewart's highlight? 6'9" 320 lb. monster was killing the poor little kids. Curious to know what ya'lls opinion of him is? How will he fair in the SEC?

While I do agree with your assessment of clapp (he's a damn good guard) a lot of fournette and guice's big runs came from Boutte on zone plays. Not a slight on clapp at all. He definitely was a huge part of it as well.

I am curious about brumfield. I know his dad did (does?) post on here, and was hoping for some insight on what the plans are with him. May be a bad sign by him not posting (speculation, not fact, please don't take this as gospel, just an opinion)

Should, he's not tackle material. Good guard material though.

Watch out for Adrian Mcgee and Lloyd cushinberry. Heard high praise about cushinberry at center.

Only real locks are gonna be Deculus & Teuhema.....rest will all fight for other 3 jobs

Don't really agree with this, our only solid returning lineman was Clapp. Teuhema was out of position all year and don't really know what to expect from a true freshman.

Not Day 1 for Deculus, but if he can be sharing reps with Malone fairly early, I could appreciate him being used in situational looks [or to keep our O-line fresh when going up against Bama's D-Line] by the time the meat of the schedule hits.

I have heard the same thing. He's my pick to be the offensive surprise of spring football.

We need a solution at LT not another guard. Neither Malone or Teuhuma should be in that spot unless there is an injury.

Brumfeild should get a look at center as well. Seems to have the messureables and body type for it

Clapp or Brumfeild at center if one of them has the knack for it.

That way we can get our best 5 on the field

The Toby Weathersby era at tackle has been pretty disastrous for our pass protection.

Campbell is going to be good for us one day, but he isn't ready. His pass protection last year was painful to watch.

I agree 100%. Malone started the season just under 300 pounds which is a little on the light side for left tackle (he may weigh more now) and seemed to struggle to the point that they had to try other linemen there. The problem was that they weren't any better and their replacements at their inside positions weren't as good at them. This caused the line to be playing with two positions not being as good as they could be instead of one. I feel that we were a left tackle away from winning against Auburn and Florida. I really hope Malone can bulk up a little more while improving his foot speed and become a solid piece of the puzzle. The other positions look pretty good going into this fall.

Teuhema doesn't have the feet to excel at tackle. I'm high on reDeculus especially as an EE, but I just don't see him starting at LT unless Malone gets injured. I do think they will work Deculus in whenever/wherever they can.

Deculus has yet to practice yet alone play a single snap and let he's projected by some as the next Cam and a sure starter at LT.
It's this kind of mindset that insures a disappointed fan base and angry fans. It's why successful coaches lose their patience and their jobs. There is NO way to predict how this kid will turn out but I promise you, if he's not all SEC you clowns will blame Les Miles.

Glad someone mentioned Cushinberry, since he has always been regarded as a solid center prospect.

I believe there will be some good battles for starting OL positions, but those returnees do go into spring practice leading that competition.

Maybe not an ideal option, but I wonder if they try Weathersby some at LT in the spring. Surely no worse that tehuma and Malone, right? He played hurt a lot last year. Assuming Deculus is as advertised, would be nice to be able to groom him at RT for a year.

f I have to see Teheuma struggle out at OT again I might vomit. Dude is very good inside, I hope they stop trying to play him outside

Les Miles is gone- Teuhema will play his natural position- Guard! And finally, maybe we will start recruiting more real Tackles in the future too!
