If we lose on 11-23, at 8-4, I think we go to Peach Boel and will probably play some rediculous ACC opponent.

If we win on 11-23, some have us predicted to go to Cotton and play Texas. Even though I'm upset about the record, if we beat Texas in the Cotton I think it would be a memorable season. Man do I hate that team.

BUT, even if we do win and are 9-3, do you think the Cotton Bowl still takes TAM to put Jonathan Pigskin against the in state rival Longhorns who passed in him during recruiting in what might be his last year? Sure the Cotton would live an LSU Texas matchup in any year, but it seems that storyline may be hard to pass up-especially if both teams have 9-3 records. They may even want this if TAM is 8-4 having list to Mizzou.

Thoughts?

I think that Texas wants no part of ATM at all right now. So if Texas goes Cotton they will try everything they can to strong arm the cotton in taking anybody besides the aggies.

If this happens Alleva should be immediately fired. Well....he should be immediately fired anyways but this would be yet another in the list of reasons alleva should be immediately fired.

I think the media would do whatever they could to get Texas and jff together. Both institutions, not so much...right now I would project LSU to cotton. Auburn to sugar. Mizzou to cap. Ags to south Florida. East is really tough to project.

Probably so. Music City or Liberty Bowl are also possibilities.

Things I have actually heard

1. "The Buffalo Bills are losers because they lost four Superbowls".
2. "Yeah, we went 15-0 and won the state championship in football but we could have beaten some of our opponents by wider margins."
3. "We aren't playing in the NC so who cares?"

And if you criticize any of these guys they overreact by using the other extreme argument against you - "Well, I'm not satisfied with mediority like you."

This "all or nothing" mentality must make for a lot of frustration.

We have no idea.

However, if we lose to A&M I think we drop hard.

People will want A&M bad, including Cap One and Cotton. We lose any kind of "tiebreaker"--we must have a better record.

I doubt CFA wants us which leaves Gator and Music City. Pretty embarrassing.

Just for example, these are the last four SEC selections for the MS Bowl:

2012: Vanderbilt
2011: Mississippi State
2010: Tennessee
2009: Kentucky

The bowl started in 1998. The teams with the most appearances?

Kentucky 4
Minnesota 3

no lie, i thought this was a tread about cotton getting called up to the league. I opened it in 0.2 seconds and was disspointed LSU not playing in the championship this year.

I don't want to face Clemson again with the defense we've got this year.

Cotton definitely takes us over LSU, even if y'all win out. This is assuming we beat Mizzou, obviously. But JFF = ratings = $$$.

Beat Texas badly, causing them to fire Brown.. they turn around and hire Saban = successful season.
