Does College Baseball need to change in any significant ways?

And if so, how?
Is it growing or stagnating in general popularity or involvement?
Does it really need to grow? Seems like we assume growth is a good thing but not always. Viable? Sure.

The stupid rule about being outside the baseline when running to 1st base and the bag being on the inside of fair territory needs to change.

Like college football it’s dominated by the South. I don’t really care if it grows but if it is going to, they would need some good teams from other regions to consistently be good.

NIL may trump this, but full scholarships.

For me this is easy, we benefited yesterday, but had that called on us multiple times.

It's a terrible rule and makes zero sense.

I want electronic strike zones, in some capacity. At least in CWS. That's my #1. It's ridiculous that some blind bus driver gets $350 a weekend to call balls/strikes over batters heads, while going back to his day job and hopefully not crashing the bus.

Freakin this. You can't even touch 1st base from the path the rule states you must run.

Worst rule in baseball easily.

I don’t mind the runner’s lane rule, I just think there should be a point, 10 or so feet before the bag, where you are allowed to cross the foul line

I do not want them to go to those stupid double bases

The simplest fix would be widen 1st base but yeah as the rule stands it’s dumb

In the umpires mechanics manual there is a provision for the last few feet to touch the base

The Florida runner last night was in fair territory the whole way to the base
Violation the correct call was made period

People who don’t understand how officiating works should not comment also should not assume a tv or radio commentator knows anything about officiating because they don’t

Most people know just enough about rules and officiating to make themselves look uninformed which they are

I wonder how many college football players there are versus college baseball players?

The CWS schedule should have some flexibility so that both teams in the championship' pitchers are fully rested. IOW, the 1st game starts no earlier than 3-days after the completion of both brackets.

Reseed the CWS brackets once they qualify for Omaha, and a day between all games in Omaha apart from the finals
The automated strike zone is inevitable to some degree, even if it's just 5 pitch reviews a game or something to start. Use something similar to Tennis for their in/out review but with a Strike zone instead of the lines in tennis.

With the way balls and strikes were called all year in the SEC I think automating that should be priority 1

3rd strike is an out. Regardless if catcher catches it or not.

Stop counting football, the sport that pays for everything, scholarships toward title 9 so baseball can become a full scholarship sport and you can start more male sports in general.

If they’re going to be this stingy with the strike zone they need to increase the pitcher max to 16
