He is a know poster on here. I am sure he has been lurking looking for a suitable replacement we will all be happy with.

About as faithful in him as I'd be if my boy played lacrosse at Duke circa 2006

Hell no. Alleva is the worst AD in America. Have hated him since Duke. Backboneless prick. False rape accusation, cant handle the pressure, so he fires the coach. That coach was a good guy and he ruined his life because Alleva is cant handle a little pressure. How do you think he will handle the Hire of a new head football coach? You better believe he will frick it up!

He doesn't know LSU.
He counts beans and sucks up to PC thought police.
He is spineless.
He doesn't know good football when he sees it, and doesn't care.
He looks at the fan base as a bottomless pit of $$$$$.

So do I have any confidence in his ability to find and hire the next great coach at LSU? Tell me.

What role would TAF have (if any) in that decision-making process?

Which do you have more confidence in, Les getting the program back to where it was or Alleva making a good hire?

Hiring coaches is far from an exact science. Trent Johnson was a very solid hire on paper. The same with Nikki Caldwell. Obviously neither of those worked out but the process he used to hire those coaches was as good as anyone can ask for. Nobody is clairvoyant. I have no doubt that Alleva would make the best hire he could make. That's really all anybody can ask for to be fair.

Not really.

From what I've seen, he uses the deer-in-the-headlight, hire a search firm approach. Dumb.

Someone w/ a heavy-duty position like AD at a major university should have some savvy about him. He should have contacts at other schools, among agents. He should be able to reach out and, confidentially, assess the interest in the head coach football job, in the event it becomes, or needs to become, vacant.

That puts you ahead of the game. If Les does resign/retire, or, we lose the last 2 games and it's a foregone conclusion we want him out, wouldn't you want to have already done some confidential homework/research? Rather than, act totally unprepared, hire a stupid search firm?

Alleva should ALREADY have a short list of candidates in his back pocket. He SHOULD BE making quiet inquiries to the agents of: Jimbo Fisher; Justin Fuentes; J.L. Mora; Sean Payton; Dan Mullen; Kirby Smart; Tom Herman; David Shaw, and others, I'm sure. That way, if the need arises, he already has a feel for who might legitimately be available.

Someone w/ savvy would conduct this quietly, and try to minimize leaks, try to avoid situations like, say for example, Fisher were interested, but he wanted to keep it on the down-low. You tell his agent, "You leak this to FSU, we drop him from consideration."

A little executive savvy. Not sure Alleva has it.
