OK. So, in JUST THIS YEAR, 4 schools in the P5 managed to field a superior QB of the same age as LSU's QB. This means that in JUST THIS YEAR, 5% of them managed to do it. Let's assume that this is normal and that in the last 4 years, the number has been 4 schools.

This would mean that in the last 4 years, 16 different P5 schools managed, when necessary, to field a FR or SO QB that wasn't a 96th place shite show.

And, of course, that was only "qualifying" QBs which leaves out the guy who managed to be lights out in the College Football Playoff this season.

Me thinks your theory that it's fricking hard to do just went to shite.

ETA: Oh. And how many P5 schools even have NEAR the recruiting pull LSU has? I mean, ya know, since Vandy, UK, etc etc are included.

How many of those schools also had a FR or SO at all of the receiver positions? You act as if QB was the only issue with our passing game and not receivers who couldn't get off the line and create separation.

Isn't your entire argument based on the premise that QB recruiting sucks?

There's no end to your excuse mongering.

Yes, that MILES QB recruiting/evaluation has been abysmal. LSU has recruiting pull as a school. Don't be a fricking dumb arse. If LSU can't recruit QBs, THAT is on the coaches.

Pull up the list of QB's recruited to LSU since 2005, and yeah...LSU has a pretty serious problem.

Over a dozen QB's who never panned out for whatever reason.

OK, so QB development at the high school level in Louisiana sucks, the staff attempted to get an elite OOS QB and he screwed us and left us holding the bag.

We then signed a well-regarded prospect in the next class.

As a sophomore QB throwing to freshmen and sophomore WRs and TEs, Jennings had the worst passing season in recent memory.

So we sign one of the top DTQBs in the nation in 2014, another all but gift-wrapped for 2016, Jennings is developing, the receivers are developing, and the OC is adjusting his offense to the talent at hand.

And you just shat your pants and bitch.

Recruiting has sucked, development has been fine.

In 2014, Cam goes out and gets the #3 DTQB.
In 2015, Cam grabs a 2-time 5A Texas Champion
In 2016, we have Feleipe Franks lined ip.
In 2018, we have Zadock Dinkelmann lined up

So why is the future so bleak?

AJ Was 4 star.

BH. was A VERY sought after 4 star. And yet, you're pointing to guys that haven't set foot on campus as our hope.

I've down voted your last two posts because you have completely lost your mind. Miles has failed miserably at recruiting and developing the QB position. he had upperclassmen that he ran off. I'm Sure any of the three could have been at least as good as AJ. If the season was a wash why put AJ out there when he wasn't ready? Les and Cam dropped the ball big time.

Here is the thing, these QBs all had different talents.

Specifically, one was a more mature passer, and one was a more athletic runner.

I can't really say there is a huge different in the style of Anthony Jenning and Brandon Harris. Sure they aren't carbon copies but they are a lot more similar than any of the Qbs listed.

The issue is Miles picks his guy and goes with them hell or high water. Thats his achilles heal in coaching. He's all in with Jennings, good or bad.

the 2 QB system only works when the qbs have opposite play styles. Jennings and Harris have pretty much the same skill set, but one has proven they cant really lead a team.

One has a stronger arm and looks much quicker and faster from observation. One got observed more because of playing time. I don't care what LSU does as long as they win at any position.

Last year the QB position was very bad...no way to sugar coat this. WRs with accolades but 7 career receptions didn't help either. Everybody is a year older and more experienced.

I am hopeful. They both seem like good guys but a lot of you maybe good guys as well but cannot play football at this level

I agree with you. Next years offense should be pretty potent regardless of who starts at QB. If Jennings has improved as much as most of us believe he has then I would have no problem with him starting and Harris coming off the bench for series here and there. Either way this is going to be a very tough offense for defenses to deal with.

The time for a 2 QB system was "Last Year" AJ had one comeback win drive vs. Arkansas to win the game and then had a mediocre bowl game that we won on the back on Jeremy Hill, going in to the year. He did nothing to distinguish himself last year but he was the safe pick.

Had we done this last year we would have our starter this year. It would be Brandon Harris. he's more accurate, makes quicker decisions, is less likely to take a sack, and the entire offense seems to light up when he's under center, and he has more yards per attempt even over all year last year.

Like Arnold Palmer said about the Masters..."If you lay up and don't go for it, you'll lose". I'm tired of laying up with Jennings, I want to go for it with Harris. We have studs on offense & I've no doubt Harris can hand it off to Fournette, Williams, Ducre, etc. as AJ.

When a team tells u they have a 2 QB position, that means they do not have a QB!
