Damn right it should.

Any coach in country can coach this team to wins over UL Monroe, McNeese and Vanderbilt.

That leaves 9 games. 4-5 record in those games he should be fired. $1 million per win against decent competition.

A 7-5 record means he is 5-5 when you take out the rent a wins.

Beats me!

With his overall record and a NC trophy in the LSU trophy case that he coached the team to, he is not going anywhere in the next few years that he doesn't want to go as long as he keeps winning and doesn't pull a Tiger Woods type thing.

NC coaches get treated different than other colleges in college football. Like Miles or not, but that 07 season separated him from bout 99% of his peers and gave him a much longer rope than other coaches. imo

Why is it so damn hard for guys like you and Prominentwon to grasp the idea taht a 8-4, 7-5 record in college football ain't gonna cut it. REGARDLESS IF YOU WON THE NATIONAL CHAMP. Do you not understand that finishing 2nd or 3rd in the SEC West means nothing more than a losing season!

Who said anything about me disagreeing with the fact that if he finishes with 4 to 5 losses this year that he SHOULDN'T be fired??

I'm just calling you out and your bullshite "sources."

Personally, I don't think LSU is going to lose that many games this year. But your well known hatred for Miles would never allow your mind to be open enough to think that this team is capable of 10 wins.

Didn't read the whole thread but Yes,imo,7-5 will get Miles fired.*-4 may if we look bad getting there.IMO we have to beat at 1 of Bama/Florida and go at least 9-3 and look better on offense.(Miles may get by with just firing Crowton if we look bad on offense and go 9-3)

It is not hatred for Miles. I have nothing against him personally. Think he's a great guy. Better man than Saban, Meyer, Petey. He's just not a good coach, that's where my hatred comes from.

It also pisses me off because of all the clowns on this site that refuse to see the truth because of Miles 3 11+ win seasons. The clowns continue to give him a pass, refusing to see the downfall of the program, making excuse after excuse. You Prominentwon, one of the clowns, over look everything b/c you are blinded by purple and gold!

No. He has 2010 and 2011 but 2 more mediocre seasons and he will have a difficult time keeping his job at LSU.

The only way Miles is fired in 2010 is if he posts a losing overall record and doesn't make a bowl game. That said,

2009: 9-3, 2010: 9-3, 201: 10-2 = Miles extension
2009: 9-3, 2010: 8-4, 2011: 8-4 = Miles fired

The numbers aren't necessary, but the trend is. 2010 notwithstanding, if Miles can get our results back up in 2011, he'll stay, if we hover around 8 or 9 wins, he's gone.

I've seen a few "downfall of the program" times, but a 9-3 regular season leading to a major bowl invite, 3rd place finish in the SEC, and a national ranking does not equate to any downfall I have ever seen before.

I guess I can joint your "clown" club, Oh Wise One.

Afraid you may be right but, take in the consideration that he backed into the NC game with 2 loses against the Ohio Suckeyes that should degrade his NC status somewhat. Since he has not even went 500 in the sec with his own players

It's amazing how quickly you've adopted the mindset of the Rant in such a short amount of time. Why don't you go look at how Saban got to the championship in 2003, or more recently, how the stars had to align for Florida to play in the National Championship against the same Ohio State team the year before.

As per your second argument: 1) All LSU players were Miles players as of 2005, 2) Miles last two teams have gone exactly .500 in the SEC.
