The "Miles for Miles" program will definitely be activated.

7-5 and Miles might get a pay raise. Crowton got a pay raise for having the offense ranked 100+.

You really believe Miles could go 7-5 every year. Losing those 5 games to SEC opponents and he wouldn't be fired. Man, what are you smokin?

So, you are saying that if he beats 7-5, he's gotten this team to overachieve, correct?

ok IDK how you can say that

Just meaning, realistically...Miles will be back in 2011. We'll go no worse than 7-5 and he'll tweak whatever....Alleva will send a 'rah rah' email vouching to be worth a shite soon...

What if we go to a BCS bowl over the next two years as an at large and finish 2nd in the division and in the top 4 of the conference both years(definitely if we were barely beat out of division titles)? Would we really fire a coach after that considering his overall accomplishments at the school?

If we go to a BCS Bowl this year, or next year in 2011, that would save him. He would be around in 2012,2013+.

We went to the Capital One Bowl last season. Probably the top non-BCS bowl.

Very true...but the bar has been set to win the Western division once every few years....make an appearance in Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game. That is the goal. If this isn't met by the end of 2011, I think 'we'll be going in a different direction' as they like to say. $3-4 M coaches should be able to attain this.....$1.2 could keep his job going to the Capital One/Chick-Fil-A, Cotton Bowl.

We have been first twice and second twice in the division with Miles. LSU and Bama are considered the favorites to really compete fr the division. Bama lost 9 starters from the defense that has carried their team the last two years. We have a legit shot to win the division. I have no idea why the negativity.

the automatic CAP ONE opponent is the best of the two. #2 big ten, vis a vis, the #2 ACC for the chik.

However CHIK pays best of the non-BCS.

Every year with the talent that is on our roster, anything can happen. Last year....lack of quarterback play/offense...being 114th in the NCAA kept us from winning anything. I'm not sure we've made the progress to go from 114th in the NCAA on offense to winning the SEC Title. We'll see, who knows.

No. There's no way in hell Miles is fired for having a WINNING record. You can be as delusional as you want, but the reality is that won't happen. Read it, understand it, live with it.

I can read. What you said is pretty self explanatory. That if Miles doesn't have a losing season he won't be fired by LSU. You make no distinction on season or when. Reread the first thing I quoted. That IS your argument. Unless I missed something 7-5 is a winning record, and under your assertion he won't be fired for that. So by your argument, and logical conclusion, he could go 7-5 each year and not get fired. You wrote it, I thought it was stupid

But LSU has looked pretty much like MSU on a good day the last two seasons. Since the 2008 season, LSU has not looked or played like LSU. If LSU continues that nosedive in 2010, I don't care who is coming in 2011, Les Miles will have proven he is not coaching on an SEC championship level anymore.

IMO, 2010 is his make it or break it year.

I'm right with you...I've seen enough myself. I just think from an administrative stand point we might have to wait 1 more year...

One thing we have going for us is Alleva owes zero loyalty to Miles, didn't hire him...he's not 'Alleva's guy.'

this is the real question...i wouldnt give the sob an extension unless he wins the SEC title, and then i might give him a 1 or 2 year extension...i certainly wouldnt give him anything long term again...and id make for damn sure the buyout is next to nothing...if he doesnt agree to it...see yah dude...

Personally, I certainly have a want for 2010 to be Les' last year....I was just saying what 'I think' the LSU Administration will do....

I hope you are correct.
