Some of the national boards mad a big deal out of Julio's catches and PP. I think if PP had to do things over again, that Heisman pose was a bad thing.

you must have saw a totally different game from the rest of us, the pass interference was a accidental bump, it couldn't be avoided!

People those passes were on the $ & some took time to develop. PP made excellent tackles and got beat on some plays. The only one that wasn't a heck of a throw+catch was the pass to Maze. Greg threw his best passes towards PP, as if he and JJ practiced all week on those particular passes! Good job PP, not shut down but good job!

It couldn't have been avoided because his arse was beat. Come on fellas. The guy did not have a good game overall. Average, maybe. Great, no. Good, no.

he was fine, just got undercut on the TD. that play could have been better defended but the others were just great throws which were indefensible

it's all about what he has done lately. If he has a monster game against ole miss but most notably arkansas, all will be forgotten

TD was thrown high and as soon as he cut like I said, that also is indefensible because he put it where only Julio could go up high and snatch it at it's high point! nothing you can do about that, but to say the man had a bad game like Raparoot is sayin is ridiculous!

PP will be a NFL stud!

PP has consistently gotten beaten on man-on-man situations. This is nothing new. This is why I've said he should never really be compared to a Tommy Casanova in terms of dominating a game defensively.

I have also said this multiple times, and everytime I have been hammered for it.

With as much hype as he gets on this board, one should produce a little more IMHO.

the guy shutdown 2 potentially great NFL receivers soon in Greene and Jones last year, if not for cramping up in those games neither would have had a TD!

this time around the passes were on the money, nothing can be done about that, but his being beaten constantly, i guess you mean when he took games off like against Ole Miss' WR who he didn't take as serious as Greene and Jones, this kid is a natural at CB and well built for someone to be that athletic, he looks more like a safety!

No , how many game changing plays did Julio make. PP had him covered pretty good but the passes were pretty good as well. He had the one td but he didn't even have many first domwn catches. How many plays did they want to throw to Juilo, but PP had him covered, so they threw to someone else or the qb got sacked ?

i really feel like PP has been off his game for a while now. dating back to the tenn. game. the expectations of him are almost unachievable.....that td to Julio was about as good of a pass as can be made there. was actually good coverage. i was more upset with the one on one with maze that he could have made a play on, but stumbled after some contact.

I think he has all the tools to be one of the greats, maybe I am expecting too much.

I will reserve judgement untill after Arkansas game because I think that game will be a huge test for him.

He did exactly what he was asked to do - contain Jones and don't let him run after the catch.

Jones was targeted seventeen times and made ten catches for 89 yards. That's 5.2 yards per target. The coaching staff is very happy about that.

On third down, Jones was targeted six times, three time it was a first down, twice Peterson tackled him short of the 1st down, the other was a break up by Simon.

Peterson had good coverage on the TD. McElroy just threw a near perfect pass.

Petterson did not have a "bad" game, but Drake Nevis and Kelvin Sheppard were the stars on defense along with the Freshmen that stepped up to the plate.

One play that has not been discussed is the TD to Richardson. First, I'm a big PP7 fan, but when I watched my taped replay, I noticed something. TR was in a single back formation. As the ball is snapped, TR swings right. PP7 was responsible for TR, but hopped back to the inside about a foot before changing direction to pursue TR. KS11 had the inside covered and followed behind PP7. Once PP7 caught up to TR, he made a spectacular play to stop TR's forward motion. But had he not made that step to the inside, he probably could have tackled TR for a loss. This would have forced a FG attempt, or a 4th down try. Chance for a big play lost. I still love the guy, and we won, but that's my observation.

actually he did stop him, his butt touched the ground before he tried to extend the ball and remember this guy is supposed to be pound for pound one Bama's strongest athletes, but Peterson manhandled him! Not to many DB's would have made that tackle one on one!

Close call on the play. My point was that he was not as disciplined in his assignment as he could have been, thereby denying him a chance to tackle for a loss. He STILL made a great play to stop that bowling ball.
